EVERY LIFE MATTERS: KSU–DAGUPAN CAMPUS UNITES IN FAITH, HOPE, AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

A moment of prayer. A message of hope. A commitment to care for one another.

Today, October 12, 2026, following the traditional Flag-Raising Ceremony, the Kalinga State University–Dagupan Campus community gathered for the Mass for Mental Health and Su***de Prevention 2026, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Giovanni Vincent Buliyat Wacas, Parish Priest of Saint Joseph Dagupan Mission Station, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Organized by the Campus Guidance Services in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, the activity brought together more than 400 students, 47 faculty members, and 26 non-teaching personnel in a meaningful expression of faith, compassion, and solidarity.

The celebration served as a reminder that mental health matters and that every member of the university community deserves to be heard, supported, and valued. Through prayer, reflection, and shared commitment, participants were encouraged to foster a culture of kindness, understanding, and hope.

The activity was led by Campus Guidance Counselor Aiza Pearl Balinggao and Guidance Associate Hardy Ao-wat, with the assistance of Psychologist Lovelia Iringan and personnel from the KSU Main Campus. The Campus Guidance Services Office will also conduct a series of room-to-room mental health awareness campaign in the coming days.

In her message, Campus Administrator Dr. Odette Pannogan expressed her gratitude to Fr. Wacas for his presence and spiritual guidance, emphasizing the importance of strengthening mental health awareness and community support within the campus.

During the Mass, Fr. Giovanni encouraged everyone to choose kindness over judgment, listening over assumptions, and compassion over silence. He reminded the community that seeking help is a sign of courage and strength. He also stated that every life is precious and each voice deserves to be heard. He further emphasized that no one should have to face their struggles alone.

The Campus Guidance Services extends its sincere appreciation to the Student Development Services Office, the College Deans, the General Services Office (GSO), and all stakeholders whose support contributed to the success of this meaningful activity.

Together, let us build a KSU–Dagupan Campus where mental health matters, hope is nurtured, and every individual feels seen, valued, and supported.

University President Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor extends her congratulations to the newly elected officers of the Kalinga State University Dagupan Faculty Association following the election conducted by the Election Committee on September 21, 2026, at the KSU-Dagupan Campus.

The elected officers are Dr. Edgar M. Naganag, President; Mr. Regie S. Edduba, Vice President; Dr. Angeline L. Labbutan, Secretary; Ms. Divina D. Cariño, Treasurer; Dr. Nollie Boy D. Jerson, Auditor; Ms. Dianne G. Domingo, Public Relations Officer; Dr. Marinelle M. Tocyapao and Ms.Khia Mae L. Gunday, Business Managers; and Ms. Jovelyn P. Suma-al and Mr. Michael D. Saflor, Sentinels.

As they take their oath of office, the officers affirm their commitment to uphold the responsibilities entrusted to them and to represent the interests and welfare of their fellow faculty members with integrity, accountability, and dedication.

President Doctor looks forward to the officers’ meaningful contributions to faculty representation, institutional collaboration, and the continued advancement of Kalinga State University’s mission and goals.

Maricar B. Daligdig of CLASS and Heart Feye Kisob of CBAA captured the Women’s Singles A and B titles, respectively, during the Kalinga State University (KSU) Intramurals on Wednesday, October 7, at the Tabuk City Tennis Court, securing both championships for Dagupan Campus.

Daligdig topped the Women’s Singles A division after defeating College of Education (COED) representative Janell Ruth Gagelonia, 8–4, as Gagelonia mounted a comeback attempt by narrowing the gap to 5–4 before Daligdig pulled away to secure the victory.

Daligdig received a bye in the quarterfinals before defeating CEIT’s Lorraine Buslig, 6–2, in the semifinals, while Gagelonia advanced to the final after defeating CBAA representatives Delin and Barrientos, both by a score of 6–1.

Buslig completed the podium in the Women’s Singles A division with a third-place finish.

Kisob secured the Women’s Singles B championship for CBAA after defeating fellow CBAA representative Fritzy Nicole Matalang, 6–3, in the final, while CETHM’s Cristel Faith Bullayao claimed third place after competing against CHNS’ Gabrielle M. Atiwag.
