TABUK CITY, Kalinga โ The first Lumin-awa International Multidisciplinary Research Conference 2026 (Lumin-awa 2026) is set to be organized by Kalinga State University (KSU) in partnership with several academic institutions, addressing pressing global issues under the flagship theme, โInnovating Justice and Governance: Multidisciplinary Pathways to Equity, Inclusion, and Sustainable Development.โ
The conference is co-hosted by Apayao State College, Abra State Institute of Science and Technology, Ifugao State University, Benguet State University, and Mt. Province State University. The International Forum for Education and Research Promotion (IFERP) provides publication support for the event.
Lumin-awa 2026 will bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders from many fields and countries to address critical issues, including health inequities, democratic erosion, systemic discrimination, and the marginalization of Indigenous peoples and Global South communities.
Organizers described justice as a theme to be examined through a multidisciplinary lens throughout the conference. Emphasizing decolonial, rights-based, and community-driven approaches, Lumin-awa 2026 will serve as a global platform for evidence, lived experience, and advocacy. Attendees will be allowed to collaborate toward fairer systems, more inclusive policies, and people-centered institutions.
The organizers stressed that the conference goes beyond merely identifying and exposing injustice. โRather than simply illuminating injustice, Lumin-awa actively strives to eliminate it,โ conference materials stated, encapsulating the eventโs action-oriented vision.
The conference rallies the academic community and the public with a closing call to action: โTo illuminate is to transform. Join us at Lumin-awa 2026 and be a part of this collective movement for justice.โ
