In a historic event, Taguig City University
(TCU) conducted the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Federation of Graduate School Student Societies (FGSSS) and its Program Societies last June 28, 2025 at the TCU Circular Building.
The event was graced by Hon. Jomil Serna, Councilor of the 2nd District of Taguig City, who served as the guest speaker and administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers. He also delivered a special message from the City Mayor, Hon. Lani Cayetano, expressing the city's unwavering support for the development of graduate student leadership at TCU.
Dr. Amalia Rosales, Dean of the Graduate School, welcomed attendees and gave an insightful opening message, highlighting the significance of this first-ever federation in the history of TCU's Graduate School. Dr. Meleda Polita, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, and Dr. Juan Birion also expressed their heartfelt support for the initiative, emphasizing how this pioneering federation will help build a strong sense of community among graduate students.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the universityโs commitment to fostering student leadership and governance. This event, which saw the oath-taking of the FGSSS and the four Program SocietiesโMaster of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Arts in Education (MAED)โis a groundbreaking achievement. It provides graduate students with the opportunity to collaborate and creates a unified platform for students to foster a more inclusive environment for learning and growth at TCU.
Mr. Redine Ehem, President of the FGSSS, delivered a powerful acceptance speech, outlining the federation's goals and aspirations while reaffirming the commitment to empowering graduate students and strengthening their role within the TCU community. The ceremony concluded with a closing statement from Mr. Timothy John Aquino, Vice President for Internal Affairs of the FGSSS, who expressed his excitement for the opportunities ahead.
