CSU Enhances RDE Manual of Operations to Align with Best Practices and Emerging Trends

Cagayan State University (CSU), through its Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Unit, conducted a pivotal workshop for the review and update of its RDE Manual of Operations on July 25-26, 2024, at Golden Fields Hotel, Tabuk City, Kalinga. The primary objective of this assembly was to revise and enhance the RDE manual, ensuring it embodies the latest best practices and emerging trends. By doing so, CSU aims to establish itself as a leading entrepreneurial university in the global landscape of higher education. The updated manual will also guarantee that RDE programs, projects, and studies align with community, industry, and national needs, thus maintaining a high standard of quality.

Additionally, the workshop sought to foster stronger collaboration among faculty, staff, stakeholders, and partners, thereby enhancing RDE outcomes and impacts to ensure that the RDE manual aligns with the Universityโ€™s strategic goals, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), SUC Levelling, ASEAN University Network (AUN) standards, Times Higher Education Rankings, and the Accreditation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants University (AACCUP), among others.

The review and update also aimed to ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations. This includes alignment with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), Regional Development Plans, the Harmonized National R&D Agenda 2022-2028, and other relevant RDE frameworks and priorities.

The activity was attended by participants from the different campuses of the university ,guided by Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao as the consultant, the Vice President for RDE Dr. Junel B. Guzman, and Directors from the different offices of the RDE Unit. Their collective expertise and insights were instrumental in revising the manual to ensure that CSU's RDE programs, projects, and studies are of the highest quality and effectively meet the needs of the community and stakeholders, both locally and internationally.

This significant undertaking underscores CSU's commitment to excellence and innovation in research, development, and extension, ensuring that the university remains at the forefront of academic and societal advancement with the unwavering support of the OIC-University President, Dr. Arthur G. Ibaรฑez.
