On March 22, 2024, the inaugural event of the EZ-PHOWER-IT project unfolded with the captivating title "Unleashing the Power of MS Excel for Office Report Productivity." This session saw the participation of 30 dedicated personnel from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), comprising doctors, nurses, administrative staff and from PRMSU CCIT-IT Department.
This partnership is formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Dr. Roy N. Villalobos, Dr. Marlon James A. Dedicatoria, Dr. Rosielyn A. Ebal, Dr. Menchie A. Dela Cruz, Daryl John C. Ragadio and Darwin M. Moraña as the PRMSU representatives and Dr. Noel C. Bueno, Ms. Trisha Mae D. Apsay, Arjee C. Orilla and Ryan James Paje as the PHO representatives, paving the way for the innovative extension project named EZ-PHOWER-IT (Elevating Zambales Provincial Health Office by Widening Employee Resources on Information Technology). The primary objective of this project is to bolster the Provincial Health Office's capabilities by empowering its workforce with advanced proficiency in essential tools such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel), Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides), and various other IT-related applications. Through this initiative, the aim is to significantly augment health development efforts, fortify training programs, and enhance workforce retention, all while fostering gender equality by leveraging enabling technologies, particularly information and communications technology, to empower women in the region.
The workshop commenced promptly at 8:00 AM with registration overseen by the Secretariat. The opening program, skillfully coordinated by the AVP Presentation team, featured invigorating presentations and speeches. Dr. Herminio D. Cawagas I, the Provincial Dentist, delivered the opening remarks, followed by the inspirational message delivered by Dr. Geoffrey S. Sepillo, program chair of IT department.
The morning sessions were intellectually stimulating, with Mr. Ronnel C. Mesia shedding light on legal and ethical issues in IT. Mr. Mesia further delved into Microsoft Office and Excel, setting a solid foundation for practical application.
