IMPLEMENTATION OF ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES
In light of the recent incidents of violence involving learners in educational institutions across the country, the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) is implementing enhanced security measures to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all members of the College community.
ZSCMST remains committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment where students, faculty, staff, and visitors can study and work without fear. To strengthen campus security and prevent potential threats, the following protocols shall be strictly implemented effective immediately:
โข No ID, No Entry Policy
All students, faculty members, administrative personnel, and other authorized personnel shall wear and visibly display their valid ZSCMST identification cards while inside the campus. Individuals without valid identification shall not be allowed entry.
โข Mandatory Inspection of Bags and Vehicles of Clients and Visitors
All bags, packages, and vehicles entering the campus shall be subject to inspection by security personnel. Metal detectors may also be utilized at designated entry points to enhance security screening.
Random inspections may be conducted throughout the day to deter the possession of prohibited items and maintain campus safety. All inspections shall be conducted professionally and, whenever possible, within the view of CCTV cameras to ensure transparency and accountability.
โข Visitor Screening and Registration
All visitors shall present any valid identification card, register at the security desk, and state the purpose of their visit. Entry shall only be granted upon compliance with these requirements.
โข Enhanced Security Patrols
Security personnel shall increase roving patrols across the campus, including academic buildings, laboratories, student activity areas, coastal zones, and other common spaces, particularly during peak hours, class dismissals, and evening schedules.
โข CCTV Audit and Monitoring
The College Information Systems Office and the College General Services Office (CGSO) are hereby directed to conduct an immediate audit of all Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems to ensure their full functionality, particularly in critical areas, identified blind spots, campus perimeters, and access roads.
โข Prohibition of Weapons and Dangerous Objects
The possession of fi****ms, bladed weapons, explosives, and other dangerous or weapon-like objects inside the campus is strictly prohibited. Items required for legitimate academic activities shall only be allowed under the supervision of authorized faculty members. Violations shall be dealt with in accordance with existing College policies and applicable laws.
โข Shared Responsibility for Campus Safety
All students, parents, faculty members, staff, contractors, concessionaires, and visitors are encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious behavior, unattended packages, security concerns, or potential threats to the nearest security personnel or College authorities.
Campus safety is a shared responsibility. The cooperation and support of every member of the ZSCMST community are essential in ensuring a secure and conducive environment for learning and development.
