The Philippine Association of Chemistry Teachers (PACT) – Zamboanga Peninsula Chapter, in collaboration with the 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒚 (𝑫𝑶𝑪) of the Western Mindanao State University, successfully conducted a two-day Training Workshop on the Mastery of Laboratory Instrumentation and Molecular Visualization for Natural Product Chemistry last May 16–17, 2026 at the WMSU Science Hub Building.

The workshop gathered chemistry educators, researchers, and laboratory personnel from across the region for lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities on laboratory instrumentation, molecular structure visualization, property prediction, and digital chemistry tools used in chemistry education and natural products research.

The event also hosted the PACT General Assembly, where the current set of PACT–Zampen officers was unanimously affirmed for a third term (2026–2028). Participants likewise received PRC CPD units for their active participation in the training.

Celebrating Small Wins, Big Reactions!

The WMSU Department of Chemistry gathered this afternoon, October 29, for a victory celebration in honor of our 28 newly registered Chemists and 18 newly registered Chemical Technicians who successfully passed the October 2025 Licensure Examinations!

Over simple yet meaningful food and fellowship, our new licensed chemists and chem techs shared their inspiring journeys—the pressures, challenges, and breakthroughs that tested their determination and strengthened their bonds with mentors who have guided them every step of the way.

The group also had a photo opportunity in the CSM premises and paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, Dr. Mohammad Nur S. Paspasan, together with other CSM administrative officials, to express their gratitude and share in this moment of joy.

Just like a chemical reaction, your hard work, perseverance, and passion combined to produce an outstanding result! The WMSU–Department of Chemistry is truly proud of each of you—our brilliant chemists and chemical technicians who continue to make our community beam with pride.
