The Department of Political Science, Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, takes immense pride in the achievements of its students in competitive examinations. Last year, Hisham Tanveer, a student of the Department, successfully qualified the CSS written examination and interview and secured a position on the merit list. This year, Aimal Saeed, who remained a student of the Department from 2021 to 2025, has successfully qualified the CSS written examination. Both achievements are a matter of great pride for the Department and the College and a source of encouragement for our present and future students.
It is important to emphasise that the College is not a CSS academy, nor is the Department of Political Science established merely to prepare students for competitive examinations. Our fundamental purpose is education and the overall development of our students. We seek to develop their consciousness, rational and critical thinking, intellectual capacity and understanding of society, state and life, enabling them to face practical challenges and become responsible, enlightened and constructive citizens capable of serving their country with competence and integrity.
At the same time, education prepares students for professional life. Since every student has different abilities, interests and potential, we encourage them to pursue the fields in which they can excel and to participate in healthy competition. The success of one student inspires many others to believe that they too can achieve their goals through dedication and hard work.
Our graduates are serving successfully in education, police, FIA, administration and many other professional fields, while several have advanced through competitive examinations such as CSS, PMS and PCS. These achievements are therefore not only individual successes but also a reflection of the academic environment and collective success of the Department and the College.
Our primary objective will always remain the holistic development of our students, rather than preparation for any particular profession or examination. Yet, whenever our students succeed in any field, it is a source of immense pride for us and an inspiration for those who follow.
Hard work never goes to waste. The achievements of Hisham Tanveer and Aimal Saeed remind our students to dream big, work with dedication, believe in their abilities and strive for excellence.

The Department of Political Science and The Inspirer Society of Political Science successfully organized an academic seminar under the supervision of Patron-in-Chief Auzair Mehmood, with the proceedings commencing in the name and blessings of Allah Almighty.

Students and Faculty members from the Departments of Political Science of various cluster colleges of JMC Abbottabad also attended the seminar.

The Patron-in-Chief formally briefed the audience about the vision, objectives, and academic mission of the Inspirer Society of Political Science, highlighting the importance of intellectual discourse and political awareness among students.

The seminar was conducted on the topic “Political Science: National Integration, Progress and Development.” The distinguished guest speaker, Brigadier Raza Muhammad Khan Tanoli, currently serving as Director of Studies at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture. His address emphasized the role of political science in strengthening national cohesion, institutional development, and sustainable progress.

The session evolved into an engaging interactive discussion where students actively participated and presented thoughtful questions, making the seminar intellectually enriching. Students from the cluster colleges of JMC also attended the event, promoting inter-college academic collaboration and dialogue.

The organizing team included President Muhammad Ali, Director Events Bakhtawar Mohmand, and Head of Seminars Yasir Wazir and other team members, whose dedicated efforts ensured the successful ex*****on of the program.

The concluding remarks and vote of thanks were presented by Head of the Department of Political Science, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad Mehmood . The vice Principal Prof. Dr. Faiz Alam also joined the event and his encouraging words added value to the occasion.

The event concluded with refreshments, providing an opportunity for faculty members and students to continue discussions on politics, national development, and the growing significance of Political Science in contemporary society.
