The Department of Social Work, Government Graduate College Bhakkar, organized its first orientation and introductory session for the newly admitted students of BS Social Work, 5th Intake, marking the beginning of a new academic session.
*The session was attended by the Professor Rana Umair, Professor Abid Hussain, Dr. Javed Talokar, Lecturer Madam Sana Parveen, other faculty members, and newly enrolled students*
*The CRs and GRs of senior classes warmly welcomed the newly admitted students by presenting them with flowers, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere*
The purpose of the session was to welcome the new students, introduce them to the department, and provide guidance regarding academic activities, the scope of Social Work, and future career opportunities.
During the session, the faculty members discussed various aspects of students’ academic and professional development. They highlighted the importance of Social Work as a profession and briefed the students about the class schedule, academic routine, examination system, and departmental activities.
An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, during which students actively participated and raised several questions regarding career pathways, professional opportunities, and their future prospects after completing the degree. The faculty members responded to their queries and provided valuable guidance to help them understand their academic journey and future professional opportunities.
The session concluded in a positive, welcoming, and encouraging atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging among the newly admitted students and strengthening their connection with the department.
