Election for the President of the Association of Political Scientists (2025–26)Today, the Department of Political Science successfully conducted the election for the President of the Association of Political Scientists for the term 2025–26. The election concluded peacefully, reflecting the democratic spirit and responsibility of our students.A total of three candidates contested the election:Salman Ahmad – 7th SemesterMusawwir Munir – 5th SemesterDilawar Hussain – 3rd SemesterIn the absence of Prof. Sohaib, Mr. Mohammad Ishaq served as the Chief Election Commissioner. Prof. Waqar Ahmad acted as the Presiding Officer, while Mr. Maqsood Ali served as the Assistant Presiding Officer. Mr. Malik Atif Kamal, Mr. Muhammad Bilal, and Mr. Sohail performed their duties as Polling Officers with dedication.The polling remained above 80%, demonstrating strong student participation.The final results are as follows:Dilawar Hussain – 44 votesMusawwir Munir – 48 votesSalman Ahmad – 50 votes (Winner)Prof. Jadoon Saifullah Khan, Head of the Department, along with Prof. Azmat Ali, guided the process throughout. Prof. Hamid Ali, Head of the English Department, and Mr. Irfanullah from the Statistics Department joined as observers to ensure transparency.We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winning candidate, and best wishes to the others for their future endeavors. We also express our gratitude to the Election Commission of Pakistan for providing the necessary equipment that enabled us to conduct a smooth and transparent election.A special thanks to our students—the true strength and asset of the department.
