International Symposium on “Digital Age Mind: Psychological Issues in the Era of AI Technology”

Highlighting the growing importance of mental health awareness in the age of artificial intelligence, the Department of Psychology organized an international conference titled “Digital Age Mind: Psychological Issues in the Era of AI Technology”, in collaboration with the Pakistan Psychological Association. The event was organized under the supervision of Prof Dr Saleem Abbas, Head, Department of Clinical Psychology, TUF, brought together leading psychologists, researchers, and mental health professionals from across Pakistan and abroad to discuss the psychological impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on modern society.
The symposium brought together renowned psychologists, academicians, mental health experts, and researchers from across Pakistan and abroad to address the rapidly emerging psychological concerns associated with the excessive and unregulated use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The event served as a significant academic platform to explore the influence of AI on human cognition, emotional health, social interaction, behavioral patterns, and mental well-being in contemporary society.

The Department of Psychology at Amin Campus, The University of Faisalabad, successfully organized a seminar aimed at promoting awareness, positivity, and understanding of autism. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Ms Noreena Younas, Lecturer, Department of Psychology.

The seminar was honored by the presence of distinguished guests who shared their valuable insights. Dr Saleem Abbas, Head of the Department of Psychology at The University of Faisalabad, attended as the Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of inclusive practices in the field of psychology. The Guest Speaker, Ms Asma Liaqat, CEO of The Originators Inclusive Institute and Vice President of the Disability Rights Action Group (DRAG), emphasized the significance of advocacy and support for individuals with autism.

The session was led by our esteemed guest speaker, Dr Arooj Zahra Rizvi, Clinical & Counselling Psychologist HOD of Social Sciences at Superior University, Faisalabad, who thoughtfully addressed the underlying causes of academic stress and anxiety. She shared practical, evidence-based strategies to help students manage these challenges effectively. The event aimed to raise awareness about critical social issues and promote equality, empathy, and empowerment among students and the wider community.

Students of BS Psychology from the 8th, 6th, and 5th semesters enthusiastically participated in the camp by setting up engaging and informative stalls. The topics covered included:

- Social Media Toxicity
- Self-Worth
- Identity Issues

These stalls reflected the students’ creativity, awareness, and commitment to positive change, offering attendees thought-provoking discussions and interactive learning experiences.

The Psychological Society and Well-Being Cell at The University of Faisalabad organized an insightful Awareness Seminar on Drug Addiction, aimed at educating students about the psychological and social factors contributing to addiction and recovery.
