Vice Chancellor Karakoram International University (KIU), Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq, attended an orientation session for newly admitted students of the Department of Plant Sciences as the chief guest and encouraged them to focus on academic excellence, research, and practical learning.
The session aimed to familiarize new students with the department’s academic environment, curriculum, research opportunities, and university rules and regulations. Faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of newly enrolled students attended the event.
Addressing the students, the Vice Chancellor congratulated them on their admission and urged them not to limit their education to obtaining a degree. He encouraged them to use research, observation, and practical experience to contribute to solving local challenges. He reaffirmed KIU’s commitment to providing quality educational facilities and a supportive research environment.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq also emphasized discipline, punctuality, and consistent hard work, noting that clear goals and sustained effort are essential for success.
Earlier, Dr. Sher Wali Khan, Dr. Qamar Abbas, and other faculty members briefed students on the department’s academic programmes, research activities, and future career opportunities. They encouraged students to seek guidance from faculty, actively participate in laboratory and fieldwork, and continue developing their academic and professional skills.
The session concluded with students expressing satisfaction with the facilities provided by the department and the University and reaffirming their commitment to making the most of their academic journey at KIU.
