A Women Empowerment and Wellness Conference 2026 was held by Cyntax Health Projects Pvt. Ltd. at IFQ Hotel Islamabad on 16th April 2026. The event was attended by professionals from different walks of life. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Dr. Zahid Munawar, Dr. Umm-e-Kalsoom, and Pharm D students from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PAF-IAST also participated in the conferences. Experts from across Pakistan highlighted the importance of women empowerment and challenges in different sectors.
Dr. Azhar Hussain emphasized women’s role in achieving equity in healthcare and academia. The CEO of DRAP also spoke on the empowerment of women in the pharmaceutical sector, stressing increased participation and leadership opportunities. Mr. Muhammad Thoha, Ambassador of Maldives to Pakistan, shared insights on women empowerment initiatives and challenges faced in the Maldives.
Students from various universities actively participated, making the conference an engaging and informative event.

On 16 February 2026, the 8th and 6th Semester Psychology students of Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology visited the National Institute of Psychology (NIP), Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad where they were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Rubina Hanif, Director of NIP. Accompanied by faculty members Dr. Noreen Akhtar, Ms. Wahiba Razaq, and Ms. Amina Javed. During the visit, students explored the NIP library and reviewed theses and journals to understand thesis formatting and academic writing practices. They also visited the computer lab and learned how to utilize the digital library for research purposes. The visit concluded with a commemorative souvenir presented to the Prof. Dr. Rubina Hanif Director of NIP in appreciation of their warm hospitality and collaborative support.

Glimpse of today's visit to Government High School Boys in Village Kahl, Dr. Jamal Tariq and Dr. Nighat, accompanied by students from the department, met with the respected Principal, Sir Irshad, and Coordinator, Sir Rashid. They graciously facilitated our visit, for which we extend our gratitude.
A session was conducted with students from Matric and FSc/Intermediate classes, highlighting the admission opportunities at Pak Austria University. We showcased the diploma courses offered by the School of Paramedics, emphasizing fields like pathology, radiology, anaesthesia, surgical, and pharmacy. The students were informed about the university's state-of-the-art facilities, experienced faculty, and strong industry connections, making it an ideal choice for higher education. The session aimed to inspire students to consider Pak Austria University for their future academic pursuits, increasing the chances of getting more admissions.

On 10th February 2026, DPT 4th semester students visited RMI Peshawar, where they were warmly welcomed by Dean AHS & HOD (Physiotherapy Department) Dr. Muhammad Bin Afsar Jan and Principal Dr. Bilal Khan. The visit featured an expert lecture by Dr. Bilal Khan on Advance Rehabilitation Protocols and VR Lab technology, followed by a clinical tour of RCRS, RCN, RMC, RCD, and various hospital wards. The event concluded with Dr. Mian Waleed Ahmed presented a commemorative shield to the Dean and certificates to the Principal and faculty in recognition of their hospitality and collective collaborative research work.

Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was invited as Guest of Honor at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association (Islamabad, AJK & GB Branch), held on 27th January 2026. Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain, who also served as the Regional Coordinator for the PPA elections, formally announced the election results and congratulated the winning panel. He emphasized that the newly elected team carries a significant responsibility to work with unity, integrity, and professionalism for the promotion of the pharmacy profession, strengthening pharmacist advocacy, and enhancing healthcare services in the region. He expressed confidence that the elected leadership would play an active role in capacity building, policy engagement, and professional development of pharmacists.

The Allied Health Professional Council conducted a Zero Visit to PAF-IAST on 16 January 2026 regarding the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) programs. The visiting team, comprising Prof. Dr. Sadiq Noor, Dr. Abdul Jabbar, and Mr. Bilal Khan, was warmly received by the Rector, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, alongside Dr. Sharif Ullah (Dean FCAAD), Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Prof. Dr. Sadaf Zaidi, and Dr. Mian Waleed Ahmed (Head of Program, DPT), who briefed the delegation on the university’s academic framework and specialized infrastructure. The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan conducted a Mid-Term Review Visit at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PAF-IAST on 14 January 2026. The visiting team comprised Prof. Dr. Noor Jahan, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi, Dr. Kashif Maqbool, Assistant Professor Faculty of Pharmacy, UVAS Lahore, and Mr. Jabbar Magsi from the Health Department, Balochistan. The visiting members were warmly welcomed by the Rector, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, along with Dr. Sharif Ullah, Dean FCAAD, and Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who also introduced the university’s academic procedures to the team. Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain Participates in National Regulatory Strategic Planning Workshop

Prof. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was invited by the CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) as a national key academic stakeholder to participate in the Consultative Workshop for the Development of the National Regulatory Strategic Plan (2026–2030).

The workshop is part of DRAP’s continuous efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s National Regulatory System under the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) framework. This important strategic initiative was conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), DRAP, and other key stakeholders, aiming to enhance regulatory capacity and align national systems with global best practices.
