The Department of Computer Science at GC University Hyderabad organised a career guidance session on September 11 to equip students with skills for higher education abroad and career development.

Key speaker Dr. Ghulam Mustafa from Aarhus University, Denmark, spoke on international study opportunities and shed light on global scholarships and admission processes.

Additionally, Ms. Anum, a lecturer from the English department, delivered a lecture to students on “Crafting a Professional CV & Cover Letter,” focusing on effective application techniques.

GC University Hyderabad organised an interactive session titled ‘From Readers to Leaders: How Libraries Shape Societies’ at its Library on September 24.

The session aimed to highlight the importance of book reading and the vital role of libraries in promoting knowledge, and positive social transformation.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Moazzam Ali Khan attended the session and interacted with the students.

Prof Dr Amjad Ali Arain, Prof Dr Liaqat Ali Channa, Prof Dr Altaf Simair, Prof Dr Shahnawaz Mangi, and Mr Pervaiz Solangi engaged with the students and shared insights on intellectual growth, role of libraries and reading habits. Faculty members and students attended the session.

GC UNIVERSITY HYDERABAD EMPLOYEES RECEIVE CONFIRMATION ORDERS

Vice Chancellor, GC University Hyderabad, Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan formally presented confirmation orders to faculty members and an administrative officer, who have successfully completed their two-year probation period, during a ceremony held at the Syndicate Hall of the University on Wednesday, September 24.

The event was attended by Director Human Resources and Registrar, Mr Najamuddin Sohu, along with university deans and senior faculty members.

Among those who received confirmation orders were Professor Dr. Makhdoom Muhammad Roshan Siddiqui and Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ali Brohi, Associate Professor Dr. Kamal Ahmed Soomro, as well as Assistant Professors Dr. Dodo Khan and Dr. AllahRakhio Junejo.

Confirmation orders were also awarded to Lecturers Ms. Iqra Kanwal, Mr. Zulfiqar Gul Shaikh, Mr. Amjad Ali, Mr. Muhammad Waseem, Mr. Masroor Ahmed, Dr. Mujeeb Ur Rehman Jamali, Mr. Mazhar Basheer, Ms. Koomal Naz, and Engr. Mahaveer Rathi, alongside Mr. Sher Zaman, Secretary to the Vice Chancellor Secretariat.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the confirmed employees, praised their hard work, and wished them continued success in their future endeavors.

GC University Hyderabad observed International Peace Day on Wednesday with an Awareness Rally led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan.

The event was organized by the Department of Education in collaboration with the Directorate of Student Affairs.

Carrying banners and placards advocating global harmony, tolerance, and non-violence, a number of faculty members and students marched through the campus.

Registrar Mr. Najamuddin Sohu, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali Arain, Dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Manan Shaikh, also joined the walk.

A seminar was also organized at the campus Smart Classroom, where speakers highlighted the vital role of education and youth in building peace and social cohesion.

The Department of IT at GC University Hyderabad organized two MSIT seminars on Wednesday, on September 23, focusing on IoT-based smart campus environments and deep-learning models for healthcare data protection.

The sessions, held at the IT Department’s Smart Classroom, were presided over by FCIT Dean Prof. Dr. Abdul Manan Shaikh.

During the first session, research scholar Syed Abrar Ali Shah presented his work titled "Implementation of Internet of Things Services for Creating Smart Campus Environment at Institutional Level", conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ali Brohi and co-supervision of Mr. Syed Sohail Ahmed Shah.

In the second seminar, scholar Muhammad Irfan Baloch presented his research, "Optimization: Performance of Cybersecurity within Multi-Model Cloud Healthcare Industry Based on Deep Learning Technique", supervised by Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ali Brohi and co-supervised by Dr. Sheeba Memon.

Faculty members, research scholars, and students attended the event, which concluded with an interactive Q&A session on emerging trends in information technology.

Vice Chancellor GC University Hyderabad Prof Dr Moazzam Ali Khan chaired a meeting of Academic and Administrative heads on Wednesday September 23 to review academic matters, planning and preparations for the upcoming academic session.

Registrar Mr Najamuddin Sohu and Deans of the faculties attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed infrastructure needs and space for the upcoming batch, energy consumption amid the ongoing crisis, and the introduction of a centralised and smart timetable system. It also discussed a uniform admission space for all departments and improvements in the new admissions process. The Vice Chancellor stressed the timely commencement and completion of classes and courses, academic excellence, effective academic planning and arrangements for mid-term examinations.
