Professor Dr. Khalil Khoumbati, as Acting Vice Chancellor, served the University of Sindh with true dedication and vision. In his short tenure, he worked tirelessly to uplift the University’s standards, conducted all meetings on time, and broke the old culture of delays. What truly set him apart was his open-door policy his office always welcomed students, reflecting his sincere care for their voices and concerns.

It would have been truly inspiring if Dr. Khoumbati had continued as the permanent Vice Chancellor. Nevertheless, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Professor Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari on assuming the role of Vice Chancellor. We hope he will carry forward the same spirit of openness, progress, and compassion towards students.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐛 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚

𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐛 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝’𝐬 journey from the modest village of Bhangu Behan to becoming an Associate Professor at the University of Sindh is a powerful testament to the impact of education and perseverance.

Raised in Taluka Faiz Gunj, District Khairpur Mir's, he imbibed values of hard work and curiosity from an early age. After completing his early education at Government High School Bhangu Behan and intermediate studies at Government Degree College Nawabshah, he developed a deep interest in biological sciences.

His academic path led him to the University of Sindh, where he earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in 1997 and M.Sc. in Physiology in 1998-99. His passion for life sciences brought him back to his alma mater as a Research Associate in 2005, and then as a Lecturer in 2006.

Driven by the pursuit of knowledge, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐛 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 completed his Ph.D. in Physiology from 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐮𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐧𝐠, in 2019. This international exposure enriched his research vision and academic depth.

Currently serving as an 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫, he is devoted to shaping future 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 and 𝐌𝐋𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬, advancing scientific research, and contributing meaningfully to the academic community.

We are proud to share that more than 16 students from our Department of Physical Therapy, University of Sindh, have successfully started their internships at various esteemed universities and hospitals across the country.

The internship opportunities were made possible through official letters issued by our respected 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐙𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐪𝐚𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢, benefiting over 80 students from our department. This initiative is a major step toward bridging academic learning with real world clinical experience.

سال 2024 سنڌ يونيورسٽي جي تاريخ ۾ هڪ اهم موڙ ثابت ٿيو، جڏهن ڊپارٽمينٽ آف فزيڪل ٿراپي جو قيام عمل ۾ آندو ويو. هي شاندار شروعات، محترم پروفيسر ڊاڪٽر ذوالفقار علي لغاري جي بصيرت ڀري اڳواڻيءَ هيٺ ممڪن ٿي.

ڊاڪٽر ذوالفقار علي لغاري صاحب نه صرف علمي ميدان جا قائد آهن، پر هڪ اهڙو انسان به آهن، جيڪو دل جي گهراين سان شاگردن جي ڀلائي لاءِ ڪم ڪري ٿو. سندن آفيس جا در سدائين شاگردن لاءِ کليل هوندا آهن، ۽ سندن شفقت، حوصلا افزائي، ۽ ساٿ هميشه ياد رکڻ جهڙو آهي.

In 2024, the Department of Physical Therapy was officially established at the University of Sindh under the visionary leadership of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐪𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢

𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐪𝐚𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢 is a remarkable academic leader known for his kindness and dedication. His open door policy and constant support have always made students feel heard and valued.
