NCT accreditation panel visited Hamdard University Islamabad Campus (HUIC) on 13th March to inspect facilities at HUIC to launch BEMS program.

Associate DEAN of Faculty of Eastern Medicine (FEM), Professor Dr Faisal Haider and faculty members received the panel with great gesture of dignity and respect. Panel visited several facilities available for the BEMS program and also met Director General of HUIC, Mr. Imtiaz Haider.

The members of NCT highly appreciated the efforts of HUIC for launching Bachelor of Eastern Medicine (BEMS) in capital of Pakistan along with fulfilment of all pre-requisites of NCT to start BEMS program.

The activity on "Product development from waste material" was held at Hamdard University Islamabad Campus. Students of BS-HND 3rd semester actively participated and came up with very innovative ideas that how we can use waste food materials to obtain the optimum health benefits.

This activity was organized and supervised by Dt. Neelum Awan and evaluated by Dt. Saba Chishti and Mr. Fakhri Ahmed from the Faculty of Eastern Medicine.

An activity on "Visual representation of Vitamin A rich foods" was held at Hamdard University Islamabad Campus. Students of BS-HND 3rd semester actively participated and created their own recipes for Vitamin A-rich foods.

This activity was organized and supervised by Dt. Saba Chisti and evaluated by Assistant Professor Neelam Shahzadi and the Associate Dean of Faculty of Eastern Medicine(FEM) Professor Dr. Faisal Haider.

Students of the Nutrition Department, Faculty of Eastern Medicine represented healthy eating pyramids that are a visual representation of the proportions of different foods you should be eating every day to maintain a healthy diet.

If each of your meals is planned in proportion with the healthy eating pyramid then you are much more likely to achieve your daily requirements for vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins, and essential fats.

The program in charge of the nutrition department Dr. Neelum Shehzadi invited the Associate Dean-FEM, Prof. Dr. Faisal Haider, to evaluate the student performance. Dr. Faisal Haider appreciates their hardwork and motivates them to do even better in future activities.

This activity is conducted under the supervision of Dt. Neelum Shehzadi and Dt. Saba Chishti.

Eating healthy food becomes a struggle especially when there are numerous fast-food restaurants and food apps as well as strong advertisement campaigns to attract our young generation. Stalls of our student perfectly breaks the myth regarding diet food items. The students perfectly represents quality based portion control balanced meal plate.

Nutrition Awareness day was organized on 22nd Dec 2022 as a “Nutrition Camp” by the Faculty of Eastern Medicine (FEM), Department of Human Nutrition in collaboration with the " NUTRIFACTOR TEAM" to raise awareness about nutrition within the Hamdard University Islamabad Campus (HUIC). The event aimed to educate students on healthy nutrition and early detection, prevention, and treatment of nutritional deficiencies as "HEALTHY LIFE BEGIN WITH THE HEALTHY BODY"

Educational Visit to *NARC* was organized on 28th Dec 2022 “To conduct qualitative studies and researches method on different aspects of agriculture and Nutrition” by the Faculty of Eastern Medicine (FEM), Department of Human Nutrition to raise awareness about practical based knowledge in food nutrition and technology. Its an excellent opportunity for students to get hands on training on lab food assessment methods.
