*Report on the Training Workshop Organized by the Islamabad Research Board*
*“English for Transmission of Islamic Culture – An ESP Context / An ESP Paradigm”*
An academic and training workshop titled “English for Transmission of Islamic Culture – An ESP Context / An ESP Paradigm” was successfully organized under the auspices of the Islam Research Board, a scholarly and research wing of the Islamabad Education and Relief Foundation. The workshop was designed in view of contemporary demands, with the aim of highlighting the importance and necessity of presenting Islamic teachings effectively through the medium of the English language.
The session was presided over by the Sheikh-ul-Hadith Professor Dr. M***i Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jalali, Chairman of the Islamabad Research Board and the Islamabad Education and Relief Foundation, and Principal and Sheikh-ul-Hadith of Jamia Islamabad.
The workshop featured Dr. Saleem Ullah Jundran, a renowned scholar and researcher, currently serving as Headmaster at Government High School Dhanni Kalan, Mandi Bahauddin, as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. Upon his arrival at Jamia Islamabad, he was warmly received and presented with a bouquet. Dr. Majid Nawaz Malik, Coordinator of the Islamabad Research Board, and Dr. Muhammad Azam, Member of the Islamabad Research Board, formally welcomed the honorable guest. A productive meeting was also held with the Chairman of the Islamabad Research Board, during which matters of mutual academic interest were discussed in detail.
In his comprehensive and insightful address, Dr. Saleem Ullah Jundran elaborated on various dimensions of the topic. He emphasized that English has emerged as a powerful global medium of communication in the modern era; therefore, proficiency in English has become indispensable for effectively conveying Islamic culture, teachings, and the message of Islam at the international level. He encouraged students to actively engage in practicing English through translating the Holy Qur’an, composing Hamd and Naat, delivering speeches, and writing academic essays, so that they may present the message of Islam to a wider global audience with clarity and confidence.
His impactful talk left a lasting impression on the students, who demonstrated keen interest in various academic and extracurricular activities and enthusiastically registered themselves for further participation.
On this occasion, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Professor Dr. M***i Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Jalali presented his scholarly and research publications to the distinguished guest. Additionally, he gifted the report and abstract book of the first International Seerah Conference organized by the Islamabad International University Pakistan(IIUP).
In his concluding remarks, he extended his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Saleem Ullah Jundran for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend this important training workshop and for enriching the students with his valuable knowledge and experience.
