DELL Project Display Day at GGC 🌿📚

The Department of English Linguistics and Literature (DELL) successfully organized its Project Display Day at GGC today, providing a vibrant academic platform for students to showcase their semester projects. The event reflected a strong integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application across disciplines.

Students presented diverse and thoughtfully curated projects in Ecolinguistics, Micro-Teaching, Poetry and Literary Studies, the Teacher’s Dynamic Role, Expository Writing Techniques, along with creative displays featuring plant-themed projects and Makrama art. The presentations demonstrated analytical depth, pedagogical insight, research orientation, and artistic creativity. The interdisciplinary blend of linguistic, literary, environmental, and instructional themes truly highlighted the academic rigor and innovative spirit of DELL.

We were honored by the visit of our respected Campus Director, Dr. Sarwat Jamila, who appreciated the students’ hard work, originality, and academic dedication. Her encouragement further strengthened the culture of experiential and project-based learning within the department.

The workshop titled “Exploring Linguistic Patterns: A Hands-on Corpus Analysis Workshop Using Sketch Engine”, organized by the Department of English Linguistics and Literature (DELL), Gulberg Greens Campus, Riphah International University, Islamabad, on February 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, was specially designed for 8th-semester students enrolled in Applications of Linguistics and Project Writing. Dr. Saqlain Hassan, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of English Linguistics and Literature at Riphah International University, Malakand Campus, led the workshop, which was highly interesting and engaging, with students actively participating throughout the session. Students gained extensive knowledge of corpus-based linguistic analysis using Sketch Engine, including creating and analyzing corpora and efficiently working with large linguistic datasets. The hands-on approach enhanced students’ understanding and sustained their interest, allowing them to appreciate the practical relevance of corpus tools for their final-year research. The workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience, equipping students with skills and insights that will be directly applied in their academic and research work.

She has been honoured with a token of appreciation from the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC), Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan, for her commendable efforts in managing the visa applications of 14 students for the Student Exchange Program to Istanbul, Turkey 🇹🇷, during her internship at the Riphah International Office.
