Three M.Phil seminars were successfully conducted at the Dr. M. A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry under the supervision of Director Prof. Dr. Arfana Mallah. The session was presided over by Dr. Afsheen Shah and Prof. Dr. Ambreen Shah.

Out of the three presentations, two were Final M.Phil seminars and were presented by Mr. Parshotam and Mr. Parvez Ali, while the 1st M.Phil seminar was presented by Mr. Naresh. The scholars presented their research work confidently and highlighted the objectives, methodology, results, and significance of their studies. The presentations reflected sound academic preparation and satisfactory research progress.

The chair appreciated the efforts of the scholars and offered valuable comments and suggestions for further improvement. Faculty members and students attended the session and actively participated in the question-and-answer discussion, making the seminar academically productive.

Orientation Day Successfully Held for First-Year Students of Batch-2026.

The Dr. M. A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, University of Sindh Jamshoro, successfully organized the Orientation Day for newly admitted first-year students. The event was presided over by the Director, Prof. Dr. Arfana Mallah, along with faculty members, staff and final year students.
The program aimed to warmly welcome the new batch-2026 and familiarize them with the academic environment, institutional policies, and available facilities. In her address, Prof. Dr. Arfana Mallah congratulated the students on their admission and encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence.
She emphasized the importance of chemistry as the central science and highlighted the institute’s dedication to quality education, research, and character building. Students were advised to actively participate in both academic and co-curricular activities to make the most of their university life.
The faculty members also briefed the students about the curriculum structure, examination system, laboratory rules, and support services available at the institute.
The Orientation Day concluded with an interactive session, where students asked questions and received guidance for a smooth start to their academic journey.

*Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited* (EPCL) conducted an online test on 3rd February 2026 for the recruitment of Trainee Assistant Engineers for fresh Chemistry graduates at *Dr. M. A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry* , University of Sindh, Jamshoro. A total of 93 students appeared in the test, out of which 35 students successfully qualified the written examination.

The online test and subsequent interviews were conducted by Ms. *Beenish Kajani* , Head of HR & Corporate Communications, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited, along with her team members Malik Ismail, Mina Raheel Khan (Talent Acquisition), Mr. Amer Ahmed (Production Planning Head), Mr. Wasam, Ahtisham Qadir (Manager Operations), and Mr. Muhammad Nasir (Manager Laboratory & Customer Support).

The focal person of the event, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Samejo, provided guidance to the students and efficiently coordinated the entire program.
During the visit, Ms. Beenish Kajani and her team also met with *Prof. Dr. Arfana Mallah* , Director, Dr. M. A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry.

During the meeting, both sides discussed potential opportunities for providing facilities and support to chemistry students through *EPCL’s* *internship programs,* particularly during the vacation period.
