The Department of Computer Science & IT at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, Karachi, successfully organized an insightful seminar titled “AI, Automation & the Future of Cybersecurity: Unlocking Opportunities in the Age of Intelligent Security” on 19 November 2025 at the BBSU Auditorium.

The session aimed to equip students of BSCS, BSIT and BSAI with an understanding of the emerging trends shaping the cybersecurity landscape, particularly the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Automation in modern digital defense systems.

Three distinguished speakers from the DEFCON Karachi Chapter and the cybersecurity industry, Qazi Nauman Mujahid (Co-Chapter Lead, DEFCON Karachi & CEO, Digitech Infra), Tabish Ali (Chapter Leader, DEFCON Karachi & Group Head IT Risk & Governance, Gatronova Group), and Amna Shariq Siddiqui (Director Community & Inclusion, DEFCON Karachi & CEO, WE Organize) shared their deep insights on AI-driven threat detection, automation in security operations, evolving intelligent cyber threats, governance and risk frameworks, and the expanding career pathways in cybersecurity and AI. The Q&A session was highly interactive, reflecting the students' strong interest in ethical hacking, cybersecurity certifications and AI-based security tools.

This seminar was conducted under the guidance and management of Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ali Dootio, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari Karachi, whose leadership continues to strengthen the department’s commitment to delivering advanced knowledge, professional exposure, and future-ready skills to students.
