High-Resolution Aerial Ecology and Landscape Documentation of the University of Karachi
Capturing the ecological richness and landscape patterns of one of Pakistan’s largest university campuses through 4K aerial imagery.
The survey focused on flora identification, habitat visualization, and landscape mapping, contributing to long-term ecological understanding and conservation planning.
Survey conducted by Hassaan Fahimuddin Siddiqui, Lead Consultant Mapcarto International supervised by Dr. Waqar Ahmed, assistant professor institute of environmental studies university of Karachi with support from Hassaan Habib (CEO, MapCarto International).

Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Secretary Landscaping & Gardening Council and Assistant Professor at the Institute of Environmental Studies, University of Karachi, actively led fire-fighting efforts after a fire incident was reported near the university premises. Emergency response teams promptly reached the site and worked efficiently to bring the situation under control, ensuring safety and minimizing risk.
Appreciation to Rescue 1122, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town for their swift activation and coordinated response in extinguishing the fire. Their rapid mobilization, professionalism, and commitment to public safety reflect true institutional responsibility and operational excellence.
