Our talented students took the stage and recited their favourite poetries - from timeless classics by Jaun Elia and Faiz to their own heartfelt verses. The energy was unreal!

Thank you to everyone who shared their voice, their favorite kalaam, and made the mehfil so memorable. You proved that Urdu poetry still lives in our hearts.

✨ MEET ZAFAR MAIRAJ — THE ACCLAIMED WRITER

JSMU Literary Society is honoured to welcome Zafar Mairaj, one of Pakistan’s distinguished Writer to Panel Discussion.

With a literary journey spanning more than three decades and over fifty dramas, plays and telefilms to his name, Zafar Mairaj has carved a distinctive space in contemporary Pakistani storytelling. From Sangat and Inkaar to Dil Wali Gali Mein and the widely acclaimed Kabuli Pulao, his writing has explored human relationships, cultural identities and the social realities that shape our lives.

A recipient of the Pride of Performance (2018), Mairaj has also written in Brahui and Balochi, bringing diverse cultural voices into his work.

At Banam-e-Adab 4.0, we are delighted to have him join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion on the topic:

✨ MEET KAIF GHAZNAVI , THE CURATOR, INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST & EDUCATOR

JSMU Literary Society is honoured to welcome Kaif Ghaznavi to our panel discussion.

Kaif Ghaznavi is a curator, interdisciplinary artist and educator with over two decades of experience across arts, culture and education. As Festival Director of Banvat International Festival, she brings performance, music and storytelling into dialogue, creating spaces for cultural exchange. Her interdisciplinary practice has helped bridge industry and academia, connecting creative work with teaching, critical inquiry and public engagement.

Now a therapist-in-training, Kaif also explores emotional safety, mental health and the importance of recognising and validating lived experience. She brings these perspectives to conversations about Urdu literature, considering how language and storytelling carry cultural memory, give expression to difficult experiences, and remain relevant across generations.

At Banam-e-Adab 4.0, we are delighted to have her join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion on the topic:
