Jinnah University for Women may be regarded as the pinnacle of the multidimensional activities of Anjuman-e-Islamia Trust whose members are faithfully following the foot-steps of their philanthropist founder Al-Haj Moulvi Rayazuddin Ahmad. Jinnah University for Women was established through a bill passed on 22nd January 1998 by the Sindh Assembly, and published as Special Gazette No. M-324, after the consent of Governor Sindh, vide this letter dated 2nd June 1998. The University is situated at prime location, in the heart of city, conveniently accessible by public transport from all parts of the city. The blocks of the University are spread over an area of more than 5.5 acres, accommodating the administrative staff, the Deans / Chairpersons of faculties, departments, as well as classes and laboratories. The University has educational tree of 05 Faculties; faculties offer 4 & 5-years BS and 5 years Pharm-D degree program. Moreover, the University also admits students for MS / M.Phil. and Ph.D., in selected disciplines. The University has so far produced 27 Ph.Ds. in Science, Arts and Pharmacy. Presently enrolled scholars in Ph.D. is 256. Further all Laboratories are well equipped for Science, Social Sciences and Pharmacy. There are eleven fully equipped Computer Laboratories for Computer Science Department and more 50 laboratories for other disciplines. In addition, the University has an established Central Library with more than 55,000 physical books of Management science, Social & natural sciences, Allied & Health sciences, Pharmacy. Almost all departments of the university have their own seminar libraries for students. Students can search their desired books in OPAC(Open access library catalogue). This service is available within the premises of the university. In different categories we subscribed to 25 journals with a high impact factor. Furthermore, open access journals are also available for students and faculty. Digital Library access provided by Higher Education Commission with provision of thousands of e-books and Journals of all subjects available for faculty and students.

Jinnah University for Women successfully conducted an insightful session on "Outcome Based Education & Skilled Oriented Teaching in Higher Education" under the HEC Mentorship Program for Universities on 1st June 2026 Jinnah University for Women successfully conducted an insightful session on "Outcome Based Education & Skilled Oriented Teaching in Higher Education" under the HEC Mentorship Program for Universities on 1st June 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Venue G-26.

The session was delivered by Dr. Shazia Inayat from Department of education shared valuable insights on implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles, enhancing teaching effectiveness, and aligning learning outcomes with the skills required in today's dynamic educational environment.

Jinnah University for Women successfully conducted an engaging and insightful module on “AI Ethics and Responsible Use of Generative AI Tools” under the HEC Mentorship Program for Universities on Monday, 25th May 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the New Council Room.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Narmeen Bawany, Dean Faculty of Sciences, who shared valuable insights on the ethical dimensions of Artificial Intelligence, responsible use of generative AI technologies, digital privacy, security, and the importance of ethical innovation in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.

Participants actively took part in the discussion and gained a deeper understanding of how AI tools can be utilized responsibly for education, research, and professional growth while ensuring ethical practices and positive societal impact.

Jinnah University for Women successfully conducted an insightful module on “Digital and AI Tools for Education, Research and Personal Development” under the HEC Mentorship Program for Universities on Monday, 18th May 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Room No. in C-63. Facilitated by Ms. Ummay Faseeha from the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, who introduced AI-powered and digital platforms that can enhance teaching, research efficiency, productivity, and personal growth.
