More than an event, RANG 2026 reflected the spirit of a university community where talent is encouraged, creativity is celebrated and students are empowered to discover their voice beyond academics.

This aligns strongly with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, particularly the importance of inclusive and holistic learning, while also contributing to SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being through positive student engagement, belonging and a supportive campus environment.

Nine 4th-Year MBBS undergraduate research projects from Baqai Medical College, Baqai Medical University were presented as oral presentations at the National Health Research Conference III, held on 9 August 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, Dow Medical College, Karachi.

Our students presented their work before a national academic audience with confidence, demonstrating a strong commitment to scientific inquiry, critical thinking and evidence-based medicine.

The nine projects explored important public-health and clinical themes, including breast cancer awareness, antibiotic self-medication, acne and psychosocial health, infection prevention, needlestick injury and post-exposure prophylaxis, academic stress, tuberculosis, anaemia, and malaria-related haematological and liver-function trends.

Research begins with a question and grows when young minds are given the opportunity to ask, investigate and share.

79 Years of Pakistan. A Responsibility for the Next Generation.

Baqai Medical University commemorated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day on 13 August 2026 with a powerful message for its students: build a healthier, stronger and drug-free Pakistan.

Addressing a packed auditorium, Chief Guest Brigadier Umar Farooq spoke about the shared responsibility of the medical profession and the armed forces, protecting human life, and urged students to pursue academic excellence with integrity, resilience and purpose.

A significant step followed: the Vice Chancellor announced mandatory monthly visits to Anti-Narcotics rehabilitation facilities for 4th-Year MBBS students under the Community Medicine curriculum, giving future doctors direct exposure to substance-use disorders and community-based care.

The ceremony concluded with a shared commitment to learning, integrity, service and responsible citizenship.

A meaningful step towards stronger international academic connections.

On 5 August 2026, Baqai Medical University welcomed a distinguished delegation from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and ABN Overseas Education at the Saeeda Auditorium, BMU, for a programme focused on international study opportunities, academic engagement and future avenues for collaboration.
The delegation included:

A courtesy meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Baqai Medical University, joined by the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Incharge Communications, Media & Marketing, further strengthened the institutional engagement.

For BMU students, such engagements are about more than international exposure. They create conversations around global education, postgraduate pathways, academic mobility and the future of healthcare professionals.

The visit also reflects the growing importance of international partnerships in advancing quality education, health-sector capacity and knowledge exchange.

A proud moment for Baqai Medical University as Prof. Dr. Nazeer Khan, PhD, Professor of Biostatistics and Director, Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), has been recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, among the Distinguished Pakistani Researchers and Scientists for his contributions to research and the advancement of knowledge.

This national recognition follows his international research distinction, having also been recognized among the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2025 under the Stanford–Elsevier ranking, subject to institutional verification.

A well-deserved recognition of sustained scholarship, research leadership and a contribution that extends beyond the university to the wider scientific community.
