Alhamdulillah, Textile Sports Fest has officially come to an end โ€” but not before giving us five unforgettable days filled with pure entertainment, healthy competition, laughter, togetherness, and mutual respect.

These past five days were more than just sports; they were about building bonds, creating memories, strengthening teamwork, and celebrating the true spirit of our Textile family. From thrilling matches to cheerful sidelines, from tireless volunteers to passionate players โ€” every moment reflected dedication, unity, and sportsmanship.

Students from all years came together with incredible enthusiasm, faculty stood by in constant support, and the organizing teams worked relentlessly behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. Each game taught us resilience, discipline, and collaboration, reminding us that winning is important โ€” but participation, effort, and respect matter even more.

And at the end of it all, with pride and gratitude, the Department of Textile Engineering emerged victorious. ๐Ÿ†
But truly, the real win belongs to everyone who participated, supported, organized, and contributed to making this Sports Fest a grand success.

Faculty members and students of the Department of Textile Engineering visited Art Mill, where they toured the non-denim production floor. The team at Art Mill warmly welcomed the visitors, and the visit proved to be highly insightful and informative.

Such industrial exposure is expected to open new avenues for future collaboration, including industrial visits, internship opportunities, joint research projects, and industryโ€“academia partnership.

As part of the Advance Fabric Manufacturing course, we third-year students of the Department of Textile Engineering took part in a Maypole Braiding Activity that turned a technical concept into an enjoyable, hands-on experience. Using colorful ribbons attached to a central pole, we worked in coordinated steps to create structured braid patterns.

Through this activity, we understood how interlacing paths, yarn tension, and movement synchronization directly influence braid formation concepts we usually study only in theory. What made it memorable was how interactive and fun it felt: laughing, coordinating, and correcting each other while the braid slowly took shape. It helped us connect teamwork with technical learning, making the science of braiding feel both real and enjoyable.

The Department of Textile Engineering was delighted to host the Final Year Students of the Department of Architecture and Planning led by Madam Fariha Amjad for an insightful visit today.

During their visit, students explored the fascinating journey of textiles โ€” from conventional weaving techniques to advanced technical and smart textile applications. They also had a hands-on experience at the loom, where they weaved fabric themselves, gaining a practical understanding of textile structures and processes.

It was a wonderful interactive session filled with learning and enthusiasm. Weโ€™re glad to see our fellow students from Architecture and Planning enjoy their time and take interest in the world of textiles!

It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of our beloved colleague and former chairperson, Dr. Sheraz Hussain Siddique. It's hard to believe he's gone so soon. He was a true gentleman, kind, and compassionate. His legacy will be deeply missed. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give his family the strength and patience to bear this immense loss. Ameen.
