On dated 27-11-2025, The students of GPIW / BBSHRRDB Professional Chef trade took part in the Pro Skills Culinary Star Show 2025 at Russian Centre of Science and Culture, PECHS, Karachi and won the Silver Shield. They competed in various events, including cultural tableau, a quiz competition, and Pakistani cuisine.

Yesterday, on 20th October 2025, Govt. Polytechnic Institute for Women, Korangi 31/2, Karachi, celebrated Chef Day with international chef Mrs. Sadaf Jan. She briefed the professional chef students about the significance of Chef Day and why it is celebrated around the world. After that, various competitions were conducted among the students, including recipe creation, cooking games, and food-themed activities such as making new recipes or decorating cupcakes. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony.

Today, under the Skill Up Plus project, Sindh TEVTA, in collaboration with the Research and Development Foundation, convened the inaugural meeting of the Knowledge and Learning Sharing Hub at a local hotel in Karachi. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Lubna Mahmood Rizvi, Director PPP/IL, and attended by representatives from various organizations, including government entities, UN bodies, and civil society organizations. Following presentations on STEVTA, the Skill Up Plus project, and the Hub's Terms of Reference, nearly all members agreed to join. The open discussion session yielded valuable suggestions from participants on effective collaboration for the TVET sector and promotion of Green Skills.
