A high-level meeting of Heads of Departments, Professors, Deans, and Directors was convened at Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, where participants unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the University's integrity, transparency, and academic excellence.

The participants expressed serious concern over the recent misleading and baseless social media campaign targeting Khyber Medical University and its leadership, particularly the Vice Chancellor. They strongly condemned the deliberate spread of misinformation, fabricated narratives, and unverified allegations aimed at tarnishing the University's reputation, undermining public trust, and creating unnecessary doubts regarding the transparent conduct of the upcoming Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT).

The forum categorically stated that such propaganda cannot weaken KMU's institutional credibility or its unwavering commitment to conducting MDCAT 2026 with the highest standards of transparency, fairness, merit, security, and professionalism.
The meeting paid tribute to the incumbent Vice Chancellor for his visionary leadership, dedication, and transformative contributions to the University's growth. Under his stewardship, KMU has witnessed remarkable achievements in academics, research, examinations, institutional governance, financial sustainability, and administrative reforms. Participants highlighted the University's exceptional progress, including an increase in student enrollment from approximately 3,000 to nearly 90,000, along with significant improvements in research output, national and international rankings, and overall institutional performance.

The participants reiterated that all administrative, financial, and policy decisions at KMU are made strictly in accordance with the University's Act, statutes, rules, regulations, and established institutional procedures. Every major decision is duly approved by the Senate, Syndicate, and other statutory bodies, ensuring transparency, accountability, collective decision-making, and adherence to the rule of law.

The meeting was further informed that, under the special directives of the Vice Chancellor, comprehensive arrangements for MDCAT 2026 are progressing efficiently and according to schedule. Participants expressed satisfaction that, in recognition of KMU's successful and transparent management of MDCAT over the past three years, the Government has once again entrusted the University with the responsibility of conducting this prestigious examination.
The participants reaffirmed that KMU remains a strong, autonomous, and financially stable public-sector medical university, making significant contributions to medical education, research, healthcare, and examination services through prudent financial management and effective resource utilization. They pledged to continue protecting the University's reputation, institutional dignity, and the confidence it enjoys at both national and international levels.

The meeting also expressed concern over attempts by certain elements to create unnecessary controversy surrounding the lawful process for the appointment of the Vice Chancellor. Reaffirming complete confidence in the University's legal and constitutional mechanisms, the participants expressed hope that the appointment process would be concluded at the earliest, strictly on merit and in accordance with the law, enabling the University to continue its journey of academic excellence, innovation, and institutional progress.
