This year, the World Health Organization calls on all of us to unite under the theme:
“Together for health. Stand with science.”

The Department of Media and Development Communication joins the global call to action. Let’s reaffirm our commitment to evidence-based solutions, stronger health systems, and collective action for the well-being of people, animals, and our environment.

Let’s choose evidence.
Let’s trust facts.
Let’s stand with science.

Department of Media and Development Communication invites everyone to be part of Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 8:30 PM. For one powerful hour, let’s switch off our lights and stand united for our planet.

Earth Hour is more than just turning off electricity; it’s a global movement reminding us that small actions can spark big changes. By participating, we show our commitment to conserving energy, protecting the environment, and building a sustainable future.

How you can take part:

1. Turn off non-essential lights and devices for one hour.

2. Share the message with friends, family, and colleagues.

3. Reflect on how we can reduce our ecological footprint every day.

Together, let’s shine a light on climate action by embracing the darkness for one hour.

A gentle pause, a shared joy, and a story of togetherness, Eid reminds us that the most meaningful connections are built with compassion, gratitude, and hope.

From all of us at the Department of Media & Development Communication, may this festive moment inspire kinder narratives, brighter perspectives, and a renewed spirit of community.

Ramzan Health Awareness Camp was successfully organized by Project Aafiyat of Community Task Foundation (CTF) in collaboration with Department of Media & Development Communication today at Punjab University.

The camp provided basic health screenings and Ramzan health checkups to promote wellness and preventive care during the holy month.

We appreciate the efforts of the dedicated volunteers from Abu Umara Medical & Dental College and especially thankful to Dr. Kashif Shahmeer (Optometrist) for offering eye checkups and professional guidance to the participants.

Initiatives like these help us bring accessible healthcare and awareness to the community.

While we live in the age of AI and space exploration, Dr. Ayesha Ashfaq (Chairperson, MDC) reminds us that the fight for basic human rights and gender equality remains our most critical challenge.
Dr. Ashfaq emphasizes that true empowerment starts at home. By sensitizing both men and women and embracing the "He for She" philosophy, we pave the way for women to achieve full financial independence and economic success.

Women should not be judged by their appearance, as their true value lies in their character, abilities, and contributions. Focusing only on looks ignores their intelligence, strength, and achievements. A fair society respects women for who they are and what they do, not how they look.
