Proud moment for AEC, UET Lahore!

Our students from 2022 session; Syeda Hijad E Fatima, Hafiz Atir Riaz, and Syed Wahaj Ali Shah took their final year project to PAAPAM 2026 and brought home an award + PKR 70,000 cash prize! 🚗⚙️

Their project: an edge-AI-assisted, low-cost vehicle diagnostic platform that brings professional-grade OBD-II diagnostics to everyday users — combining a Bluetooth ELM327 adapter, an offline SQLite database of 18,805+ DTC definitions, and GPT-4o-mini-powered contextual repair insights.

✅ 58–59 FPS live instrument cluster (Flutter + Riverpod)
✅ ~3.2ms offline DTC lookups — no internet required
✅ 146ms mean telemetry latency, 98.2% connection success

A great example of affordable, homegrown innovation solving a real problem for Pakistan’s automotive workshops and fleets. Congratulations to the entire team!

Kicked off our interaction with the 2026 session on their first day!

We broke the ice with a game of Human Bingo, ran an open Q&A to answer all their questions, the seniors told them about their experience, walked them through the essentials; timetables, semester project etc. and how things actually work here, and wrapped up with a department tour so they know their way around from day one.
