Jesus Christ: The Only Way to Eternal Life

Jesus Christ gave His life for our sins and rose again to give us eternal life. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

His death shows God’s love and justice (Romans 5:8), and His resurrection gives us hope (John 11:25). Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6).

To be saved, we must believe in Him (Romans 10:9). Jesus will return soon (Revelation 22:12), and those who trust in Him will live forever with God. He is not just a teacher—He is the only Savior.

True Rest and Love in Jesus Christ

I am grateful to my Lord that He uses me every day for His glory and for strengthening the faith of others. The truth is that God's loving heart is open to all people, regardless of their nation, class, or background. God does not look at wealth, status, or fame—rather, He examines the condition of the human heart. He loves those who humble themselves and walk in righteousness before Him.

Dear brothers and sisters, remember! The wealth, fame, status, and material things of this world are all temporary. But what remains forever is the new life found in Jesus Christ. Until God's presence and glory fill our lives through Jesus Christ, everything else is meaningless.

Even today, Jesus Christ calls you with His loving voice:

"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

This is the true rest that can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ. He desires to embrace you in His love and grace. Come before Him, surrender yourself, and receive true peace and eternal life!

May the Lord bless you! Amen!

A major theme in Matthew is that Jesus Christ came to establish His kingdom on the earth. Matthew mentioned “the kingdom of heaven” numerous times, and he is the only Gospel author to have included teachings of Jesus that mention the “church” (see Matthew 16:18; 18:17).

John's Gospel is richly doctrinal, with some of its major themes being the divinity of Jesus as the Son of God, the Atonement of Christ, eternal life, the Holy Ghost, the need to be born again, the importance of loving others, and the importance of believing in the Savior.

The Testimony of both Jewish and non-Jewish historians regarding death of Jesus: (Written Nadeem Ghouri)
Scholars generally consider the reference of the non-Jewish historian, Tacitus (56-120 CE) to the ex*****on of Jesus by Pontius Pilate to be authentic historical evidence as an independent Roman source.
Paul Eddy and Gregory Boyd (1) state that it is now firmly established that Tacitus provided a non-Christian confirmation of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The Jewish historian, Flavious Josephus (37-100 CE), who was born a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, wrote the history of his people in twenty volumes. He provided a detailed account of the crucifixion of Christ in his writings. (2)
A Greek historian Lucien (100 CE), wrote that "The Christians continue to worship that great man who was crucified in Palestine because He brought a new religion to the world". (3)
A Christian scholar, Wayne Jackson (4) in an article about death of Jesus Christ, quotes a passage from the Jewish Talmud (written about 500-600 CE). Jesus was hanged on Passover Eve. Forty days previously the herald had cried, "He is being led out for stoning, because he has practiced sorcery and led Israel astray and enticed them into apostasy. Whosoever has anything to say in his defense, let him come and declare it? As nothing was brought forward in his defense, he was hanged on Passover Eve. The testimonies of Tacitus, Flavious Josephus, Lucien, and of the Jewish Talmud are a clear confirmation of the account in the Gospel narratives about the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Several clear prophecies of Jesus Christ himself before his death and accounts in each of the canonical Gospels all testify to the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross. In addition, several historical sources mention the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as an historical fact.

6-But Christians in developed countries today hardly think of being persecuted because of their faith, but there are churches in the world where persecution is a daily reality. It was the case with the ancient church in Smyrna. They refused to worship pagan gods or Roman emperors, they experienced and faced oppression, poverty and persecution (verse 9). However, they remained determined and firmed to believe in Jesus Christ only. In response, they were vowed to receive eternal life. That's why sufferings and hardships were not the real issues for them. They continued believing in Jesus Christ. The faith of the church of Smyrna is still significant for us. Like the Church of the Smyrna Christians, today are persecuted in various ways around the world and Pakistan too on basis of religious beliefs. However, the scriptures strengthen our faith as the Saint, Paul writes that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8: 35-39).

5- Furthermore, Jesus declares them of the coming tribulation as we read, "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days". (verse 10) This saying of Jesus explicitly shows that the church of Smyrna was needed the message of encouragement and strength. For this Jesus Christ again encouraged this church. " Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. (verse 10). According to this verse, if they remain faithful, they will get a crown of life.
Now the blessed and amazing message of Jesus Christ that was given to the church of Smyrna is significant and meaningful for us in all circumstances and situations.

4- Jesus Christ beheld all this so that a closer look reveals that Jesus introduces himself to them in the following words. Jesus said, "Who died and came to life again". (Verse 8) This was a source of encouragement to those who were facing death every day. Jesus similarly ensured them "I know your afflictions and your poverty". ( verse 9) But they were rich in spirituality believing in Jesus Christ.

3- Clarke Commentary of Revelation provides ample information regarding the cruel situation that the church of Smyrna was facing. "The tribulation here mentioned must mean persecution, either from the Jews, the heathens, or from the heretics, who, because of their flesh-pampering doctrines might have had many partisans at Smyrna". Now it can be concluded that the above-mentioned background details regarding the church of Smyrna, depict their circumstances and situations. How were they spending their lives in miseries and pains?

2- The book of Revelation tells that every Church has its angel. Theologian Origen argues that these "angels" are the guardians of the churches. Jesus appreciated this church because two of the seven churches received no rebuke from Christ, and Smyrna was one of them. In the time of apostle John, the church of Smyrna was passing in suffering and pain. The inhabitants of this city used to worship the Roman emperor considering them as gods. Also, a temple was built by his name in this city as a place of worshiping. However, Christians denied worshipping this Roman emperor. For this reason, they were persecuted by Roman rulers even that Roman soldiers victimized them. It was yet not easy for the Christians to get employment in this city. As a result, they became a victim of poverty and deprivation.

Jesus's messsage to the church of Smyrna (Revelation 2: 8-11)

1- The book of Revelation mentions seven major churches of early Christianity. They were all located in Asia Minor, present-day Turkey. These churches were established by the hard work of the apostle Paul and others who directly followed the apostles. Smyrna was a city to whom a letter was written. Each letter, as Jesus proclaimed and recorded by the Apostle John, announces information about the church such as positive characteristics, negative characteristics and commands of Christ to the church. He even warns the community to repent.
