Students of Forensic Science, Department of Biotechnology, FOST, led by Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal, visited the Police Training College, Lahore, marking a meaningful step toward strengthening the bridge between academia and professional training.

The delegation received a warm and gracious welcome from Commandant/DIG Mehboob Lilla Sb, reflecting exemplary hospitality and institutional support. The visit featured a full day of insightful activities, including:

On December 18, 2025, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan hosted a one-day CME Conference and Research Expo. As the KeyNote Speaker, Prof. Dr. Sumera Zaib, Basic and Applied Chemistry, UCP, Lahore, delivered talk on "Exploring global trends and emerging innovations shaping the future of allied health sciences." Prof. Zaib discussed key aspects in the field and guided students on emerging trends, academic pathways, and evolving scope of allied health professions. Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of these academic initiatives in advancing professional growth and research. This event made clear exactly how important it is to keep up educational activities in order to improve allied health education.

FNS Faculty Participate in International Conference on Sustainable Food Systems

Faculty members of the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences participated in the 3rd International Conference on Advancing Food Systems for a Sustainable and Nourished Future, held on 17 December at the University of Sargodha.

Dr. Kanza Aziz Awan, Head of the Department, served as Session Chair and presented research on low glycemic index cookies formulated with stevia and barley. Mr. Waleed Sultan, Senior Lecturer, delivered an oral presentation highlighting the One Health approach to nutrition and health.

The Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry organized an insightful industrial visit to Herbion Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. ,providing students with a unique opportunity to explore real-world applications of herbal product development, quality assurance, and industrial-scale manufacturing. The visit included a guided tour of R&D, production, quality control, and packaging units, where students were introduced to GMP practices, standardization of herbal formulations, and industrial quality protocols. The activity successfully bridged theoretical knowledge with practical industrial exposure and contributed to students’ professional development.

Dr. M. Fayyaz Ur Rehman, Associate Professor and expert in computational biology, delivered an engaging and insightful session covering practical AI tools for microbiology, AI-assisted genomic analysis, literature automation, scientific writing support, and ethical AI practices. Faculty members and students actively participated and appreciated the hands-on learning experience.
