Centre for Business and Society- LUMS CBS was created at the successful conclusion of the Centre for Governance & Public Management (CGPM) and the Assessment and Strengthening Program-LUMS.

The Centre for Business and Society (CBS) is a platform that brings efforts and conversations at the intersection of business and society onto a wider stage of influence. CBS has also expanded to contain all the centres of SDSB including the Social Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC).

From learning digital skills to building digital confidence!

CBS successfully concluded Cycle II of EduLink: Linking Students with Digital Skills and Knowledge, bringing together 68 Grade 9 and 10 students and 18 LUMS Student Coaches for an immersive journey into the world of digital learning.

The centre collaborated with two low-cost public schools for the programme: Tauqeer Foundation & Girls High School and Jinnah Public High School.

Over five days, student participants explored essential skills in Microsoft Office, professional email communication, resume building, and safe internet navigation through interactive, hands-on sessions led by their LUMS Coaches.

But EduLink was about more than just learning how to use digital tools. It was about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating access to opportunities that can shape the future of young learners.

For our LUMS Student Coaches, it was equally a journey of mentorship, leadership, and service, proving that when knowledge is shared, its impact multiplies.

68 learners. 18 coaches. One shared vision: making digital learning more accessible, inclusive, and empowering.

CBS has successfully completed Cycle II of the STEMBridge Coaching Programme in partnership with Moawin Foundation and People's School, Ghotki, Sindh.

Over the course of four weeks, 30, Grade 9 and 10 students embarked on a virtual STEM learning journey, guided by 10 dedicated Intern coaches from the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering at LUMS (SBASSE), LUMS. Through engaging sessions in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Biology, our coaches shared not only academic knowledge but also inspired curiosity, confidence, and a passion for learning.

STEMBridge reflects CBS' commitment to making quality education more accessible by connecting students with meaningful learning opportunities, regardless of geographical boundaries. By fostering mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge exchange, the programme continues to bridge STEM learning gaps and empower young learners with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Centre for Business and Society (CBS) at SDSB-LUMS is thrilled to launch the second cycle of its flagship Microsoft Office & Digital Skills Bootcamp, a five-day immersive programme empowering students from low-cost public schools with essential digital skills for the future.

As part of our commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education, we are partnering with Jinnah Public School and Tauqeer Foundation & High School to bridge the digital divide and create meaningful learning opportunities.

CBS at SDSB-LUMS kicked off the second cycle of its annual STEMBridge: Virtual Coaching Programme.

Held in partnership with Moawin Foundation, this collaboration is rooted in CBS' vision of creating accessible educational resources for underserved communities across Pakistan. As a part of this programme, CBS recruits Intern Coaches from Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering at LUMS who are grouped with students from Moawin Foundation schools across Pakistan, in a virtual learning medium truly "learning beyond borders".

The four-week programme follows a reciprocal learning framework in which school students have the opportunity to receive coaching from LUMS interns in STEM subjects, while LUMS student interns gain grassroots experience working with communities in underserved areas of Pakistan.
