We are delighted to share that Ms. Nimra Butt, Lecturer in Geography at Government M.A.O. Graduate College, Lahore, has been recognized among the Top 10 Best Teachers of Lahore Division.

🌍 **Earth Day Celebration 2026** 🌱

The Geographical Society celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm. **Miss Kainat Sardar (GIS Analyst, Punjab Forest Department) delivered an informative presentation highlighting the importance of this day.

Students from the **Botany Department** also joined the seminar, making it an engaging and collaborative event. Our respected Chairperson, **Dr. Nausheen Mazher**, shared her valuable thoughts on environmental awareness.

A **poster and model competition** was held, where students from both departments actively participated and showcased their creativity.

🏆 **Botany Department** secured **1st and 2nd positions**
🏆 **Geography Department** secured **2nd and 3rd positions**

Prizes were distributed among the winners.

We are pleased to proudly share that the 4th PhD faculty member of the Department of Geography, LCWU, Dr. Rehana Ghulam (Lecturer), has successfully completed her PhD defense today.

Her PhD completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Saima Siddiqui (Director, CIMR,PU).

On 17th February 2026, the Society Fair at the Hockey Ground, Lahore College for Women University was filled with energy and excitement!

The Geographical Society proudly set up a stall featuring fun games like Guess the Country on the Map and Flip the Bottle. Students from different departments enthusiastically participated, won prizes, and many even joined our society as new members!

We were honored by the visit of Vice Chancellor Uzma Bukhari and Chairperson Geography Department Nausheen Mazher, whose presence made the event even more special.
