Ms. Noreen khalid, Lecturer at the School of Computer & IT, Beaconhouse National University (BNU), has co-authored two research articles published in the Spectrum of Engineering Sciences Journal alongside her students. Spectrum of Engineering Sciences is a peer-reviewed journal recognized in the Y Category by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for the 2024–2025 period, covering engineering, data sciences, and computer sciences with active DOI and Google Scholar indexing.

The first article, titled “A Transfer Learning–Based VGG-16 Framework for Automated Pneumonia Detection from Chest X-Ray Images with Real-Time Web Deployment,” was authored by Malaika Nasir with Ms. Noreen Khalid as co-author. The research presents an AI-powered pneumonia detection system developed using a modified VGG-16 transfer learning model trained on the Kaggle Chest X-ray Pneumonia dataset. The model achieved 99.04% validation accuracy and 98.28% test accuracy with minimal misclassification. To enhance practical usability, the team also developed a web-based interface capable of providing real-time predictions and confidence scores from uploaded chest X-ray images.

In another article titled “JARVIS – AI Integrated Operating System,” students named Mubbasher Ahmed, Afzaal Akhtar, M. Abdul Rehman Khan and Fazal-Ur-Rehman collaborated as authors with Ms. Noreen Khalid serving as co-author. The project explores the development of a voice-assisted operating system automation tool inspired by “Jarvis.” Developed in Python and powered by the Ollama GPT-OSS 120B pre-trained model, the assistant is designed to provide real-time voice assistance and automate Windows operating system functions. The system is also capable of making decisions and executing tasks based on user requests, highlighting the growing integration of AI-driven automation in everyday computing.
