The National College of Arts stands as a distinguished institution dedicated to excellence in art, design, architecture, media, performing arts and cultural and creative scholarship. Vice Chancellor's Message

The National College of Arts stands as a distinguished institution dedicated to excellence in art, design, architecture, media, performing arts and cultural and creative scholarship. For gen

erations, NCA has fostered a culture of innovation, critical inquiry and artistic exploration, producing graduates who continue to make significant contributions to the creative sectors both nationally and internationally. It is a transformative process that encourages students to think independently, and engage with contemporary challenges while developing a deeper understanding of the world around them. With fourteen undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes, including contemporary disciplines such as Fashion Design and Multimedia, NCA offers a diverse curriculum that responds to the evolving demands of the creative industries. Our students benefit from the guidance of accomplished faculty members, access to specialized studios, workshops and opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. The NCAโ€™s commitment to cultural leadership extends beyond its academic programmes. Through one-of-a-kind initiatives such as The NCA Triennale 2025 at the sesquicentennial, the College will recurringly provide a platform for critical dialogue and international collaboration every three years, the first edition of which was a paramount enterprise marking the NCAโ€™s 150th year. It brought together artists, anthropologists, art historians and critics, designers and architects, musicians and theater professionals, filmmakers, craftspeople, scholars, and creative practitioners from diverse backgrounds. The Triennale embodies the spirit of excellence and cultural exchange that will continue to define NCAโ€™s vision in the future as well. In terms of infrastructure, the expansion of NCA through its Gilgit-Baltistan campus has broadened its outreach and access to quality creative education across Pakistan. This growing academic community strengthens our mission to provide inclusive learning opportunities while encouraging regional engagement. As we move forward, our focus remains on preparing students for a rapidly evolving world while preserving the values that have defined NCA for generations. We continue to embrace innovation, interdisciplinary learning and global engagement, ensuring that our graduates are equipped to become thoughtful contributors within their professions and communities. I invite you to explore the opportunities that the NCA offers and to become part of a vibrant community dedicated to creativity, learning, and cultural enrichment. We are eager to support you as you aspire to shape your destiny and contribute to an ever-evolving landscape of the arts.

A panel discussion reflecting on Lahore's iconic Bibi Pak Daman, unfolded around architecture, memory, heritage and belonging, with Master Architect Honourable Nayyar Ali Dada, Prof. Dr Asghar Nadeem Syed, Prof. Shahnawaz Zaidi, Arch. Rafay Anwar, and moderated by social anthropological researcher Ms Fiza Jafri, on 15th August, 2026, at the Tollinton Block, NCA.

From the challenges of transforming a historic and sacred site while preserving its sanctity, to the cultural memory held by shrines across the subcontinent, the conversation moved beyond architecture into questions of identity, nostalgia, experience and community. Because some spaces are not simply built, they are lived, remembered and continually reimagined.

The conversation brought together Vice Chancellor NCA, Prof. Dr Murtaza Jafri, Mrs Fatima Murtaza, artists, students, members of the public, creating a diverse audience for an engaging dialogue on our relationship with the spaces we inhabit.

The attendees proceeded to the show 'The 40th Day', afterwards.
