Ferdowsi Chair

Ferdowsi Chair For the Promotion and Research of the Persian Language Culture Ferdowsi Chair was established in 2010 with the great efforts of its Chairman Prof.

University of the Punjab has established many separate chairs for the research on different subjects and named them after the great contributors of those categories and their chairmen are also the most competent professors whose research works have been universally recognized by different educational bodies. Dr. Aftab Asghar, a well known name of the Persian world. He has dedicated his whole life

for Persian and now he has donated his whole library to the ferdowsi chair in which thousands of books on different topics exist and many other literary people, institutions and Iranian Govt have donated many precious books to its library. The purpose of this chair is to promote the poetry and teachings of the great poet Ferdowsi (940–1020 A.D) who is best known for his literary epic SHAHNAMEH, to which he devoted most of his life. SHAHNAMEH was originally drafted by Ferdowsi for the Princes of Samanids, who were responsible for revival of the Persian cultural traditions after the Arab invasion. then he died during Ghaznawi era. The other purpose is to take practical step for the enhancement of research of Persian language and literature.

ای ارضِ کشمیر

ای ارضِ دلگیر
با خون خود روزی نوشتی، آن روشن تحریر
روزی بگردد با آن خونت دنیا را تقدیر
ای ارضِ کشمیر
ای ارضِ دلگیر
از پروانہٴ شمع وفا، باشد بتو صدھا سلام
در شب تیرہ و تار ستمھا، ھستی صبح امام
توئی کہ دادی جھد حق را اینجا طوری مقام
کو را نیست نظیر
آزادی آن خواب کہ او را آزادی تعبیر
ای ارضِ کشمیر
ای ارض دلگیر
با خون تو روشن باشد اینجا شمع وفا
تو دادی عنوانِ نوینی صبر و ھمت را
بر تو عنایتِ خاصی از اللہ و نبیِ﴿ص﴾ ما
شکند ھر زنجیر
روزی بگردد با آن خونت دنیا را تقدیر
ای ارضِ کشمیر
ای ارضِ دلگیر

من لاله ی آزادم، خود رویم و خود بویم
در دشت مکان دارم، هم فطرت آهویم
آبم نم باران است، فارغ ز لب جویم
تنگ است محیط آن جا، در باغ نمی رویم...........................................................
من لاله ی آزادم، خود رویم و خود بویم
از خون رگ خویش است، گررنگ به رخ دارم
مشّاطه نمی خواهد زیبایی رخسارم
بر ساقه ی خود ثابت، فارغ ز مددکارم
نی در طلب یارم، نی در غم اغیارم
من لاله ی آزادم، خود رویم و خود بویم.......................................................
هر صبح نسیم آید، بر قصد طواف من
آهو برگان را چشم، از دیدن من روشن
سوزنده چراغستم، در گوشه ى این مامن
پروانه بسى دارم، سرگشته به پیرامن......................................................

ازجلوه ى سبز و سرخ، طرح چمنى ریزم
گشته است ختن صحرا، از بوى دلاویزم
خم مى شوم از مستى، هرلحظه و مى خیزم
سر تا به قدم نازم، پا تا به سر انگیزم............................................................

جوش مى و مستى بین، در چهره ى گلگونم
داغ است نشان عشق، در سینه ى پرخونم
آزاده و سرمستم، خو کرده به هامونم
رانده ست جنون عشق، از شهر به افسونم
من لاله ى آزادم، خود رویم و خود بویم
از سعى کسى منّت بر خود نپذیرم من
قید چمن و گلشن، بر خویش نگیرم من
بر فطرت خود نازم، وارسته ضمیرم من
آزاده برون آیم، آزاده بمیرم من.................................................................
