International Resource Centre (IRC)

LCWU, in collaboration with British Council Pakistan has trained faculty members from across the university in various areas of internationalization to help LCWU set up an International Resource Centre in the University. The purpose of setting up this hub is to promote and enhance international education programmers with the expressed goal of increasing knowledge transfer, student and staff mobility and best practices sharing between the academic communities in Pakistan and the global academic community. To meet the growing global challenges and to compete with other local and international universities, LCWU needs to implement the following internationalization strategies:

• Staff and Student Exchange Programmes

• PhD programmes for Staff

• Placement in Foreign Universities (in collaboration with Careers and Placement Office)

• Linkages and Research Collaborations

• International Conferences, Seminars

• International Publications

• Distance Learning Programmes

• Participation in Video Conferenced Lectures and Seminars

• Attracting and recruiting International Students

Active Citizens Programme

Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalisation at Lahore College for Women University facilitated a Training of Facilitators for Active Citizens Programme in collaboration with British Council, Pakistan. The main theme of Active Citizen Programme is, "Locally Engaged and Globally Connected". Active Citizens Programme links civil society networks, community leaders and community networks in Pakistan, UK and 22 other countries across the world to deepen trust and understanding within and between communities. It aims to facilitate policy dialogue to stimulate debate about active citizenship and youth policy and practice at national, local and community levels.

The International Resource Centre (IRC), DFDI, organised a seminar on “Emerging Trends and Advancement in Electrochemical Energy and Sustainable Technology".
The keynote speaker, Prof. Nauman Arshid from Sunway University, Malaysia, shared insights on advancements in electrochemical energy, particularly in battery technologies and sustainable energy storage, while highlighting the importance of research collaboration.
A large number of faculty and students from different departments of the Faculty of Science and Technology participated and actively engaged with the speaker through thoughtful questions.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Zohra Nazir Kayani, Director DFDI, acknowledges the speaker and participants for a productive and engaging discussion.

The International Resource Center (IRC) at DFDI, in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), hosted a successful seminar on "International Scholarship Opportunities for PhD Scholars" on April 23, 2025 at LCWU.
The resource person, Dr. Hafsa Amat ur Rasool, Assistant Professor at Biotechnology Department shared her valuable experience on various international scholarship programs, including the Commonwealth Scholarship, IRSIP Scholarship, Split PhD Program, and traveling grants.She also provided guidance on the application process, including tips on writing a strong proposal and securing a scholarship.
-On this occasion,the chief guest Prof. Zohra Nazir Kiyani, Director of DFDI and Dr. Faiza Saleem, Director of ORIC,
appreciated the participation of PhD scholars from all departments of LCWU and motivated female participants to pursue international Scholarship opportunities to advance their research and career.
In concluding remarks ,Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Head of IRC, highlighted the importance of international scholarships in fostering global networking and collaborations.She also appreciated the effort of Mrs.Rabia Shehzadi,Leader of Student Exchange Program ,IRC and Dr.Farah Saleem, HR officer for hosting the seminar.
At the end , participants expressed their gratitude for awaring them of various scholarship options. Participants were also awarded with certificates.

Session on "The Miracle of Light and Color" Spiritual and Biology Treatment
Dated: 16th April, 2025, A thought-provoking session titled "Miracle of Light and Color: Spiritual and Biological Treatment" was organized by Research and Development Department, (R&D) Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalization (DFDI) focusing on the powerful connection between color, human health, and disease healing. Led by renowned expert Dr. Samina Azeemi, the event shed light on how the integration of spiritual wisdom and biological science can unlock the healing potential of light and color.
Dr. Azeemi explained how colors influence both the physical body and the human energy system, emphasizing that each color carries specific frequencies that interact with organs, emotions, and even the spirit. She highlighted real-life examples where color therapy has supported the treatment of stress, anxiety, skin disorders, digestive issues, and energy imbalances.
Participants from other departments such as Persian, Statistics, Visual Arts, Centre of Job Placement &Career Counseling, Elementary Education, Urdu, Psychology and Stem Education attended the session. The session offered a unique blend of scientific insight and spiritual understanding, encouraging attendees to consider color as a vital element in holistic health practices.

Online Applications open on 5th September 2023. All interested candidates must apply to the CSC’s online application system by 17th October 2023.
