The Department of Chemistry, University of Lahore, successfully hosted an insightful industrial lecture session on “Profeneurship: Pathways for Faculty Startups,” featuring distinguished speaker Mr. Rahmat Ullah Gill.
The session highlighted the importance of transforming academic expertise, research, and innovative ideas into impactful entrepreneurial ventures. It provided valuable insights into pathways for faculty members to explore startups and contribute to academia–industry collaboration. A meaningful initiative towards fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and a culture of research-driven startups at UOL.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Arif Nazir, Head, Department of Chemistry, presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Rahmat Ullah Gill in recognition of his valuable contribution and an engaging session.

Seminar on "Building Urban Climate Resilience through Community Engagement and Engineering Solutions for Ecosystem-based Adaptation"
The Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lahore successfully organized a seminar titled "Building Urban Climate Resilience through Community Engagement and Engineering Solutions for Ecosystem-based Adaptation" on August 11, 2026, at Auditorium 420. The event began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Rab Nawaz, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, followed by an insightful and thought-provoking talk by the guest speaker, Ms. Memoona Javed from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), who shed light on innovative engineering solutions and community-driven approaches to ecosystem-based climate adaptation in urban settings. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bilal Waqar, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, who commended the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged continued engagement with such impactful academic initiatives. The event was well attended by students and faculty members of the Faculty of Sciences, reflecting the university's ongoing commitment to promoting awareness and dialogue around climate resilience and sustainable urban development.
