JICA Delegation Visits UET Lahore to Explore Grant-in-Aid Equipment Support

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore welcomed a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), comprising Mr. Hidekazu Tanemura, Project Formulation Advisor, and Mr. Sajjad Khan, Program Officer. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for the provision of laboratory equipment to UET Lahore.
The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI), welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the critical importance of modern laboratory equipment in advancing engineering education and research at the University. The delegation subsequently toured various laboratories across the campus, where they viewed equipment previously provided by Japan in 1999 — a longstanding testament to the enduring partnership between UET Lahore and Japan in the field of technical education. The University looks forward to strengthening this valued collaboration and expanding avenues of cooperation with JICA in the days ahead.

🇹🇷 Türkiye Delegation Visits UET Lahore

A delegation from Türkiye, comprising representatives from TÜBİTAK, Gebze Technical University, İstanbul Medipol University, PAEC, and NCRA, visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and had a meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir TI.

The delegation held discussions on strengthening academic and research collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, 5G/6G, IoT, embedded systems, cybersecurity, and computer vision. Areas of cooperation included joint research projects, faculty and student exchange, and participation in international research initiatives.
