The Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT), Lahore, successfully organized an insightful international seminar titled “Shaping Tomorrow’s Built Environment: AI-Driven and Emerging Technologies” on 28 January 2026 at the PTUT Auditorium.

The seminar was delivered by distinguished international expert Prof. Dr. Salman Azhar from Auburn University, USA, who shared valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of the built environment, including:

• 3D Concrete Printing for sustainable and waste-free construction
• Reality Capture and Digital Twin technologies for smart infrastructure development
• The transition toward Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 in modern engineering practices

The event provided a dynamic platform for faculty members and students to engage in knowledge exchange and explore global advancements in civil engineering and construction technologies. PTUT remains committed to fostering innovation driven education, research excellence, and international academic collaboration.

The students of the Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology program visited the PTUT Raiwind Road Campus on 25-11-2025, where they explored the Admin Block, Academic Block, and the on site Batching Plant currently under construction.
During the visit, students gained firsthand exposure to real-time construction activities, concrete production processes, project management practices, and the practical application of civil engineering concepts. The site team provided a comprehensive briefing on structural works, construction materials, batching operations, and quality control procedures.
This educational visit offered an excellent opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with field experience, strengthening their technical understanding and professional readiness.

Nazim Ali from university of Portsmouth,Uk, working as Assistant Professor visited the Department of Civil Engineering PTUT on 24-09-2025 to deliver a lecture on the topic “Understanding Electric Vehicle (EV) Acceptance using Structural Equation Modeling”
A Conceptual Framework for sustainable Transportation in Developing Countries. His success story was not only inspiring but also provided a unique and valuable roadmap for Pakistani graduates for higher studies by winning scholarship. The presentation was met with great appreciation from the students and faculty, who found his guidance exceptionally beneficial. As token of appreciation, he was also awarded a souvenir by Dean Civil Engineering Technology Department Professor Dr Muhammad Usman Rashid.

The 2nd Board of Faculty (BoF) Meeting – Faculty of Civil and Architecture Engineering Technology was held at PTUT Lahore on September 02, 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Usman Rashid (Dean, Civil and Architecture).

The Board reviewed and endorsed key academic matters including curriculum revisions for fall 2025 onward session of Civil Engineering Technology Department.

The Civil Engineering Technology Department Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT), Lahore successfully conducted the 4th Meeting of the Board of Studies (BOS) held on 28-08-2025.
The meeting was held in the presence of distinguished BOS members from both academia and industry, who contributed their expertise to review and further strengthen the curriculum.

The Department of Civil engineering technology department, PTUT, successfully conducted its 3rd Meeting of Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) held on 26-08-2025 with active participation from industry experts and faculty. All agenda items were unanimously approved, marking a strong step toward enhancing industry–academia collaboration and preparing students for future engineering challenges.

The Department of Civil Engineering Technology, PTUT Lahore, successfully organized a seminar in the E-Rozgar Lab on “Foundation of the Construction Business Formation and Operation.”

We were honored to host Engr. Maqsood Ali Kamboh, Founder & President of TSI Engineering Inc., California, USA, as the distinguished guest speaker.

The session provided valuable insights into construction business development, entrepreneurship, and operational strategies, inspiring our students to pursue innovation and leadership in the civil engineering sector.

In strengthening the ties of Academia and Industry, Muhammad Faisal Chaudhry Vice Chairman Global PIQS (Professional Institute of Quantity Surveyors) was invited to visit the Civil Engineering Technology Department, Punjab Tianjin University of Technology on 20-08-2025 (Wednesday).During the meeting different avenues of cooperation were explored and shared with each other. It was decided that a draft of MoU between PIQS and PTUT shall be prepared with mutual consent for the benefit of students, stakeholders and society. The meetings comprised of faculty briefings followed by visits to university labs and facilities.
