International Conference on “Lifestyle Challenges and Strategies for Health, Gender, and Climate Sustainability” Held at ISCS,Punjab University.
The Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS), University of the Punjab organized an International Conference on *“Lifestyle Challenges and Strategies for Health, Gender, and Climate Sustainability”* on May 7, 2026, at Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore, in collaboration with the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD), Indonesia, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, and Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), Pakistan.
The conference brought together leading scholars, policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and international delegates to discuss contemporary global challenges related to health, gender equality, climate change, and sustainable development.
Distinguished speakers at the conference included Dr. Muhammad Muttaqien, Dean Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aziz Rahman, WUACD Representative Indonesia; Dr. Meutia Nauly from Universitas Sumatera Utara; Ms. Hina Pervaiz Butt, Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority; Ms. Sara Ahmad (T.I.), Chairperson Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali (T.I., S.I.), Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab and Patron-in-Chief of the conference.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized that issues such as climate change, health vulnerabilities, and gender inequalities require interdisciplinary and globally coordinated responses. He appreciated the organizers for creating opportunities for meaningful international academic collaboration.
A high-level panel discussion chaired by Ms. Saman Rai, Secretary Women Development Department, Government of Punjab, focused on sustainable lifestyles, environmental governance, climate justice, and gender-responsive public policies.
The student societies at ISCS put their blood and sweat to make this conference a success.
