25-Minute Lesson Plan
Time
Teacher's Activity
Students' Activity
0–3 min
Introduction: Ask: “What do you do when a computer becomes slow, an application stops responding, or an error occurs?” Introduce Windows diagnostic tools.
Students share their experiences and answers.
3–9 min
Task Manager: Explain its purpose. Demonstrate how to open it using Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Show running applications, CPU, Memory, Disk and Network usage.
Observe the demonstration and identify the displayed information.
9–15 min
Resource Monitor: Explain that it provides more detailed information about CPU, Memory, Disk and Network resources. Demonstrate how it helps identify processes using excessive resources.
Observe and identify different system resources.
15–20 min
Event Viewer: Explain that it records system, application and security events. Demonstrate how Windows logs errors, warnings and information events.
Observe the event logs and identify errors/warnings.
20–23 min
Activity: Present three situations: (1) Program is not responding, (2) Computer resources are heavily used, (3) Windows repeatedly reports an error. Ask students to select the appropriate tool.
Students select the appropriate diagnostic tool and explain why.
23–25 min
Assessment & Recap: Ask short questions about all three tools and summarize the lesson.
Answer questions and participate in recap.
