University of Mianwali Celebrates 79th Independence Day with National Spirit and Enthusiasm

The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great national spirit and enthusiasm at the University of Mianwali (UMW). The ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh, Chief Guest Mr. Ali Haider Noor Khan and Guest of Honour Dr. Abdul Majid Khan Rana.

The day commenced with a Guard of Honour/Parade, followed by flag hoisting and the National Anthem. A tree plantation activity was also carried out, symbolizing the University's commitment to a greener and prosperous Pakistan. The opening segment concluded with a special prayer.

The main ceremony continued at the Event Hall, beginning with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat-e-Rasool ﷺ. In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for blessing the nation with the priceless نعمت of independence. He reaffirmed UMW's commitment to contributing to the progress and development of Pakistan through quality education, research, and the intellectual development of its students.

The students added great enthusiasm to the celebrations through speeches, national songs, and patriotic performances, creating an atmosphere of national pride and fervour.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, in which the Vice Chancellor joined faculty members, staff, and students in celebrating Independence Day. Afterwards, Dr. Abdul Majid Khan Rana led a special prayer for the peace, prosperity, stability, and progress of Pakistan, in which all participants joined. The event concluded with prayers and heartfelt wishes for the continued success and prosperity of the beloved homeland.

On this proud and historic occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the entire nation and especially to the students, faculty, staff, and families of the University of Mianwali.

The 14th of August reminds us of the immense sacrifices, courage, and unwavering determination that made the creation of Pakistan possible. Our freedom is a precious trust, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard the unity, dignity, sovereignty, and progress of our beloved homeland.

True patriotism is reflected not only in our words, but in our integrity, hard work, discipline, tolerance, and service to Pakistan.

Our youth are the strength and future of this country. I urge our students to pursue knowledge with purpose, strive for excellence, believe in Pakistan’s potential, and use their abilities for the progress and prosperity of the nation.

University of Mianwali Observes Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir

The University of Mianwali observed *Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir* on *5th August 2026* to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

A University delegation participated in the *District Administration's program*, where faculty members and officials joined the *solidarity rally*, *flag hoisting ceremony*, and observed *one minute of silence* in tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir.

The University also organized an *in-house ceremony* in the Committee Room under the supervision of the *Focal Persons Deans*. The event was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students. It commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and *Naat-e-Rasool (ﷺ)*, followed by *one minute of silence*. Students delivered meaningful speeches highlighting the significance of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, and Pakistan's unwavering support for their right to self-determination.

University of Mianwali Holds 13th Finance and Planning Committee Meeting

The 13th Meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee (F&PC) of the University of Mianwali was held today in the University Committee Room under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh.

The meeting was attended by committee members both physically and online, ensuring broad participation in the University's strategic financial planning. Among those present in the meeting were Registrar, Dr. Abdul Majid Khan Rana, and Additional Treasurer, Dr. Faisal Rehman, along with other esteemed members of the Committee.

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed and approved various budgetary and financial matters to strengthen the University's financial management and support its ongoing academic and administrative activities.
