University of Mianwali Celebrates 79th Independence Day with National Spirit and Enthusiasm
The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great national spirit and enthusiasm at the University of Mianwali (UMW). The ceremony was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh, Chief Guest Mr. Ali Haider Noor Khan and Guest of Honour Dr. Abdul Majid Khan Rana.
The day commenced with a Guard of Honour/Parade, followed by flag hoisting and the National Anthem. A tree plantation activity was also carried out, symbolizing the University's commitment to a greener and prosperous Pakistan. The opening segment concluded with a special prayer.
The main ceremony continued at the Event Hall, beginning with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat-e-Rasool ﷺ. In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nadeem Sheikh expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for blessing the nation with the priceless نعمت of independence. He reaffirmed UMW's commitment to contributing to the progress and development of Pakistan through quality education, research, and the intellectual development of its students.
The students added great enthusiasm to the celebrations through speeches, national songs, and patriotic performances, creating an atmosphere of national pride and fervour.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, in which the Vice Chancellor joined faculty members, staff, and students in celebrating Independence Day. Afterwards, Dr. Abdul Majid Khan Rana led a special prayer for the peace, prosperity, stability, and progress of Pakistan, in which all participants joined. The event concluded with prayers and heartfelt wishes for the continued success and prosperity of the beloved homeland.
