TWO-DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON "INSIGHTS FROM THE SEERAH OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W): EXPLORING THE ROLE OF SUFISM IN PROMOTING PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE AND FOSTERING UNITY AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITIES" CONCLUDES AT BAHAUDDIN ZAKARIYA UNIVERSITY MULTAN
The Institute of Sufism and Mysticism, Institute of Islamic Studies, and Islamic Research Center, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, in collaboration with International Center of Excellence for Seerah Studies, Islamic Research Institute, IIUI, Jamia Muhammadi Shareef Chiniot, and National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatam an-Nabiyyin Authority, Pakistan organized a two-day international conference on "INSIGHTS FROM THE SEERAH OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W): EXPLORING THE ROLE OF SUFISM IN PROMOTING PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE AND FOSTERING UNITY AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITIES." The closing ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Iqbal Vice Chancellor, BZU, Multan, while Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Former Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology, Islamabad, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, Islamic Research Institute, IIUI, presented the recommendations of the conference while emphasizing the role of Sufism in fostering peace and harmony in Pakistan society. The conference featured 145 presenters, primarily from Pakistan and several other countries such as Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Maqbuza Jammu Kashmir, Morocco, and Australia, into 6 parallel sessions, each comprising multiple groups running concurrently over the two days of the conference. In addition to these parallel sessions, the event included an inaugural session and a closing session. The presenters sharing insightful research and analytical studies on the impact of Sufism and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in promoting peace, tolerance, and unity in diverse societies. The discussions covered key issues such as mental health, social cohesion, interfaith dialogue, human rights, and Sufism’s contribution to addressing societal and leadership issues in Pakistan in the perspective of Sirah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
