First-Ever TechFeast and CNCF Awareness Day Event Held at Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, University of Balochistan
QUETTA – The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT), University of Balochistan, successfully hosted the province's first-ever TechFeast Balochistan & CNCF Awareness Day event. Focused on Cloud Native Security, the landmark seminar was organized by TechFeast Balochistan and Cloud Native Security Pakistan (CNSP) in collaboration with the CSIT Department and quettamart.com.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Basit (Chairperson, CSIT), who emphasized the growing importance of cloud computing and cybersecurity. Key sessions for undergraduate CS, IT, and AI students included:
Dr. Imran Ali on GitHub fundamentals and open-source collaboration.
Dr. Zubair Shah on cutting-edge Cloud Native Security.
Mr. Sadiq Sumlani (Director DPR) on media and evolving cyber threats.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Shafaque Saira Malik (CSIT) alongside youth icons Mr. Dost Mohammed and Mr. Salauddin from GitHub/CNCF. Notably, the seminar saw massive participation from female students, alongside their male peers and dedicated CSIT student volunteers. The successful event concluded with a certificate and shield distribution ceremony led by guests of honor Dr. Ehsan Ullah, Dr. Tayabba Noureen, and Ms. Fatima.
