A delegation from Kohinoor Textile Mills, led by the esteemed Mr. Ali Nawaz, Group Head (HR) – Kohinoor Textile Mills & Maple Leaf Group, visited NUST College of E&ME. The delegation met with the Dean, NUST College of E&ME, along with faculty members, where deliberations were held on prospective areas of industry–academia collaboration. The visit concluded with an interactive session with students, wherein the honorable speaker shared insights drawn from his rich and distinguished professional experience, particularly on HR induction, career development, and evolving industry expectations, making the session highly insightful.

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), CoEME proudly congratulates Dr. Usman Akram, Head of the Department of Computer and Software Engineering, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CEME), NUST, on being awarded the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) Gold Medal in Engineering Sciences for the year 2025.

This prestigious national honor is conferred in recognition of Dr. Akram’s outstanding contributions to engineering sciences, particularly his impactful research, academic leadership, and sustained commitment to advancing computational and engineering research in Pakistan. It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Waseem Abbas, a distinguished student of MS(CSE)-19, Department of Computer and Software Engineering, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NUST).

Waseem was known among his peers and teachers for his dedication, humility, and passion for learning. His kind nature, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

The department mourns the loss of a promising scholar and a wonderful human being. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his friends, classmates, and faculty members.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
