Deputy Director Defence R&D NUST visited the College of E&ME and was given a comprehensive briefing on the College's research and innovation ecosystem. The visit commenced at the National Centre of Robotics & Automation (NCRA) and included Digital Pakistan Lab (DPL), Robot Maker Lab (RML), Robot Design & Development Lab (RDDL), Biomisa Lab, and concluded at the Micro & Nano Robotics Technologies Lab.
The visiting delegation was warmly received by the respective Principal Investigators (P*s), while the research activities, ongoing projects, and technological capabilities of each facility were presented in detail. The visit started with an interactive discussion with the Dean, College of E&ME, on potential avenues for future collaboration in defence research and innovation.

Dr. Ahmed Jawad Qureshi, Professor and Engineering Research Chair at the University of Alberta, delivered a captivating and thought-provoking session for the faculty and students of NUST College of E&ME. The audience remained fully engaged through an interactive discussion, gaining valuable insights into cutting-edge manufacturing, industrial automation, and globally impactful applied research.
Sharing the remarkable success of his research-led collaboration with Durabuilt (Canada), Dr. Qureshi demonstrated how academia-driven innovation can revolutionize industrial manufacturing through practical problem-solving.
Appreciating his visionary approach, the Dean emphasized the importance of industry-focused applied research and encouraged the faculty to embrace this model in advancing NUST's journey towards a globally competitive fourth-generation university.
