🏥 Bridging Classroom Learning with Clinical Practice
DPT 7th Semester | Students’ Clinical Exposure Visit
Students of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), 7th Semester, participated in a clinical exposure visit to the Orthopaedic Ward, Fauji Foundation Hospital, Rawalpindi, on 24 September 2026.
Accompanied by their subject teacher, the students had the opportunity to observe a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, diagnostic investigations, surgical procedures, and patient management practices.
🔹 Clinical Learning Included:
• Joint arthroplasties
• Long-bone fractures
• Internal & external fracture fixation
• Bone plating & intramedullary nailing
• Metabolic disorders of bone
• Malunion and post-fracture conditions
• Reconstructive & repair surgeries
• Interpretation of X-rays, MRI & CT scans
The students reviewed clinical records and imaging of 28 patients (8 male and 20 female), strengthening their understanding of real-world orthopaedic presentations and rehabilitation.

✔️ Exposure to surgical and fracture-fixation procedures
✔️ Developing clinical interpretation of diagnostic imaging
✔️ Understanding the role of physiotherapy in orthopaedic rehabilitation
✔️ Appreciating multidisciplinary collaboration in patient care
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with clinical practice and further develop students’ professional learning.
