PhD Fellowship in Inorganic Chemistry
Highly motivated PhD student to contribute to research and teaching at the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Kassel (Germany).
The candidate will pursue research in the development of low-valent aluminium species to find applications for small molecule activation. The chosen candidate will be funded for a maximum of three years through a fellowship.
Together with the PI, Dr Fabian Dankert a new group is to be established, and research will be conducted on experimenta! and theoretical levels.
A high ability to work in a team as well as intrinsic motivation for conducting and publishing research are mandatory.

Which qualifications? An ideal PhD candidate would have:
A bachelor's and master's degree in chemistry, ideally with focus on organometallic chemistry
Heightened sense of responsibility, high degree of enthusiasm, intrinsic motivation in research and team spirit Experience in synthetic chemistry - ideally under inert conditions (Schlenk-line, Glovebox) Routine in characterizing novel compounds (NMR, MS,..) Excellent communicative skills in English
Problem-solving and teaching skills
A precise, careful and well-structured way of working
Experience with quantum chemical calculations (DFT, ...) and/or crystallography (refinement within OLEX2,..)
