The GIKI English Debate Team Inductions are officially open!
If you:
- Replay shower arguments you "should have won"
- Love having an opinion on things you learned about 15 minutes ago
- Can look completely confident while inventing a statistic on the spot
…you’re already halfway there. We’ll handle the rest.😝😝

Introducing the stellar duo that will be representing GIKI and Pakistan at the global stage of Ottawa Summer edition: Fatima Aijaz and Hamza bin Aamir!!! As an official fundraiser organised by the OC of Ottawa WUDC '27, it will serve as a test for our program and our international development team's readiness to compete against the best teams in the world.

Within the team, Hamza is in his 2nd successive tenure as the coach and Fatima currently serves as the Captain. Within the world of debating, Hamza and Fatima have made a permanent mark with recent notable breaks in LUMS IV and DSP University Nationals. Carrying the legacy of debate pride that GIKI Debate Team has built over the years, Fatima and Hamza are now ready to take on the World's stage!

The GIKI debate team expands its global footprint with two historic grants by the World Universities Debating Championship council.

Firstly, we received a complete scholarship for one person's attendance to the premier in-person competition held in Canada this year. Effectively, this turns out to be a 50% scholarship for our one team comprising of two members.

For the official online fundraiser organised by the WUDC 2027 organising committee, we secured a 100% scholarship, making our attendance to this competition completely free!

We hope to continue to represent Pakistan and GIKI on the global stage and secure accessible debating for our members!
