COMSATS University Islamabad Launches Comprehensive Life Skills & Training Initiative for Staff and Students
In recognition of the rapid transformation brought about by modern technology, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) has announced a major new initiative to upskill its employees and students. While automation has streamlined many traditional administrative tasks, a necessary and innovative step toward greater efficiency. The university acknowledges the critical need to equip its human capital with new competencies for the digital age.
Under the leadership of the Rector, Professor Dr. Raheel Qamar, CUI is rolling out a series of practical training programs designed to enhance technical skills and professional capabilities. These programs aim to ensure that all officers and staff can meet evolving workplace demands, improve productivity, and develop leadership qualities tailored to the requirements of a new era.
Understanding that many employees cannot dedicate personal time to skill development, the university will integrate these training opportunities into its professional development framework. The curriculum is being designed to benefit both the institution and the individual, enabling every person to contribute beyond their current role by effectively leveraging technology.
In a notable extension of this vision, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar has also expressed a strong desire for students to receive training in life skills, empowering them to become active, responsible citizens beyond the home environment.
All employees (Faculty, Officers and Staff) are invited to register for their preferred training courses on the newly launched CUI Life Skills Portal at:
https://ww2.comsats.edu.pk/lifeSkills/
Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and successful participants will receive certificates upon course completion. The university administration encourages all staff and officers to actively identify and suggest additional skills they believe would help them remain effective contributors to the institution’s progress.
"The changing times demand a positive and proactive attitude," stated Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar. "I urge every member of the CUI family to stay engaged, embrace lifelong learning, and play a vital role in the continued growth and success of our university."
