IoT-Open.eu IOT-OPEN.EU Reloaded is an educational project to promote next generation EU engineers in the IoT Funded by the European Union.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a fast-growing industry promising to bring smart devices everywhere, from fridges to cars and from homes to cities. Connected devices will be powered by intelligence to deliver new services and applications. These applications will offer significant benefits like helping users to save energy, reduce traffic jams, increase comfort, and get better healthcare. The
Euro

pean Commission (EC) has made the IoT one of its flagships for growth and for the Digital Single Market. Recently launched by the EC ‘Alliance for Internet of Things Innovation’ (AIOTI) and 'IoT European Research Cluster (IERC)' are examples proving that a large number of well-trained IoT professionals is an essential requirement for a secure, safe and privacy-preserving deployment of
IoT in Europe. The IOT-OPEN.EU Reloaded is a continuation of the project held in 2016-2019, and it updates the IoT curriculum with new approaches, emphasizing the conceptual (not technical) aspects of the IoT system design. Still technical; the engineering part will be updated to the most recent hardware and software. However, the views and opinions expressed are those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the National Agency (FRSE). Neither the European Union nor FRSE can be held responsible for them.

We're proud to announce that our IOT-OPEN.EU Reloaded grant was awarded by the National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme as "Erasmus+ Best Practices"!

Thank you for this nomination!

Over the past three years, we have been working diligently to provide our students with modern educational tools that incorporate the latest technologies in the Internet of Things and embedded systems. Our project is currently complete, but please be assured that all resources will remain available online as long as we continue to maintain our interest and keep them up to date.

The end of the project typically includes summaries and reflections. We made it good. We created almost 8 hours of tutorial videos, 1000 pages of written resources, and published two books as hard copies and authored two more as online resources. There are 10 new IoT modules available for self-study using our new MOOC platform. And most of all, we have over 70 laboratory nodes located in 6 institutions, integrated with the Worldwide system, which allows for collaboration among students, integration of resources, and building solutions spanning thousands of kilometres across Europe.

All those resources are available for free, including materials for teachers from external educational institutions.

Our mobile VREL NextGen laboratory is coming soon!
Meanwhile, the first full semester of running our labs brought us over 7GB of source code, compiled by our users, mostly students of Wydział Automatyki Elektroniki i Informatyki Politechniki Śląskiej, TalTech mehaanika ja tööstustehnika instituut and RTU - Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte .
You can join and give it a test, even if you're not our student: https://iot.aei.polsl.pl is waiting for you.

Time to share a success story.
Since the beginning of the project, we have recorded over 7 hours of video material on Internet of Things.
Our students have reviewed them more than 6,500 times, and the number is growing rapidly now (yes, we have exam sessions across our universities ;-) ).

The VREL high school tour in Estonia, Tallinn, has been successfully completed!
Over the past week, we introduced the VREL solution to students at Rae gymnasium, Tallinn Gustav Adolfi gymnasium, and Tallinn Arte gymnasium. The response was overwhelmingly positive — pupils showed strong interest, asked great questions, and actively explored the possibilities of virtual and remote labs.

A big thank you to all participants and schools involved!
